$780 to install G3 intake
Thinking about what to do with some of the income tax refund, calling around and found a shop that sells and installs stillen components.
Long story short he quoted me $525 for the G3 intake plus $255 to install, 3 hours labor. I could do it myself but its to damn cold up here right now, plus this shop is owned by a Nissan dealership. I've been to shop and have seen some of his work. Looks real clean. The total would be $780, should I or shouldn't I, Just want opinions if I'm getting riped off. Also, looking to get a stillen exhaust installed probably sometime in April, right in time for spring. Thanks |

Man, save the coin. I did my install in less time than that... Should only take a shop that has done it before 1-1.5 hours tops. If its too cold, just go out for 5-10 mins at a time and take breaks

Just do it yourself. It doesnt take 3 hrs to install an intake. You should be able to do it in roughly a hr n 1/2. Bumper takes bout 20ish mins....less if youve done it before. Dremelling out the hole maybe another 20 mins and installing intake about 45ish mins with removing the engine brace. Just buy urself a portable heater. Haha this is not hard to do.

Yeah I did mine in 3-4 hours by hand using an adjustable wrench for half of it until I came to the cross brace removal. Didn't jack the car up for the bumper either. Then I went out to get proper tools. First time installing anything on any car outside of maintenance stuff. 3 hours? They'd have to be the most incompetent shop ever. Should be a 1 hr job if they know what they are doing.
