Best HFC for GTHaus CBE?

Just ordered the full SSU GThause CBE and Stillen Gen3 intake. I need to find a badass HFC (no LTH or TP plz) I've heard Berk, F.I., and ERZ but can't decide. Please send link and I'll greatly appreciate it. metal or ceramic? 100, 200, or 300 cell count? I want the loudest thing possible, yet legal in TX and wont set off any codes. Will it work connect easily to GTHause? 2010 roadster touring. :tiphat:

Berk hfc are usually preferred around here. They have a 200 cel count I think, don't quote me lol any hfc will fit any exhaust due to all the parts are meant to fit with any part. Erz are pretty good but it really depends if you want rasp or not. Check out some videos on YouTube, that should help you get a better perspective on how loud the difference between the two should be. But as far as cel count I believe that the lower count the less restriction and therefore the louder the sound. Hopefully some of our fellow Z drivers can help you out. Good luck bud! :tiphat:

Ya i want the loud growl from GTHause thats why i got em, but I dont want it to sound like a riced out honda...I understand rasp breaks at some outrageous certain points and thats ok. also I heard almost all give 4-6 hp so why pay more? either way thnx Gibby. any more advice members PLEASE?!?!

Get a resonated HFC. ARK and Fast Intentions makes them. ARK won't fit an AT though.

I was going to recommend those hfc but due to the fact that he wants the exhaust to be as loud as possible I recommended the berk. But yes the ARK resonated hfc are going to give you more power but will not make the exhaust as loud as it can be, but they will give you more power (they only fit standard 370s). Like I said, it's all preference bro and to find the hfc that fits your needs. They're all gonna give you different sound, rasp, and power gains.

I only recommended them because he didn't want rasp. With an exhaust like the GThaus, there isn't much to clean the tone. The loudest exhausts will always sound raspy. With long tube headers, a HFC and a 92db rated exhaust, my car is loud under throttle. Uncorking HFC's on a loud exhaust with a convertible may become overwhelming. The GThaus is loud as hell with the stock cats. I would venture to say it would easily be over 103db.

Have you gotten your Z back yet??? I can imagine how anxious you're getting haha

SS_Firehawk 02-03-2013 09:15 PM

Nope. Still waiting for them to start. I won't be able to drive it until August...

FLUJOKE 02-03-2013 09:15 PM

Ya I got AT so I guess ARK is out :/ any thoughts about Stillen or Magnaflow? Uncorking is punching out the Cat right? And big if, If I did F.I. LTH, that just bypasses cats and goes to the mid pipe right? Good advise so far guys thank u.

Gibby1113 02-03-2013 09:33 PM

LTH doesn't allow hfc to be installed so yea. But plus side is that it'll give you more power than any other set up and it'll give the exhaust a nice sound.

FLUJOKE 02-03-2013 09:51 PM

So how do u work around the O2 sensors if u run st8 LTH? Won't that just mess up the car in the long run?

asdfsammich 02-04-2013 01:24 AM

Lols. Has anyone run Gthaus with LTH?

I say do it. That'll be so loud you'll be heard from space.

Tapatalk & such etc

SS_Firehawk 02-04-2013 03:12 AM

Car won't be messed up with headers or test pipes. There is usually a bung that is attached to the testpipe or LTH. It pushes the O2 sensors away from the exhaust stream.

@Asdfsammich I really couldn't stop laughing right meow. Lol that's funny. It's really what I want as long as the LTH doesn't cause problems and I can slap em off and on in case I needa take it in for warranty. That's the whole reason why I'm even debating getting HFC bc that'll void it too! But I mean another grand just for pipes is a lot of money! Just dropped 2,500 for the Hause!?!

ZKraken22 02-04-2013 01:24 PM

yes someone has already ran LTH with this catback. make sure you get videos OP the sound never gets old.
