I was told that's what they do.

And regarding my statement about their dyno, half was their "Z1 power mod" if they aren't telling people what it is, then comparing their dyno results to anyone else's is a waste of time.

1-ish for 2-ish

Even a Nismo can't come close to Mikes numbers. Yikes.

I agree that if Z1 is listing a 'power mod', they need to tell us what is is and have it available, because otherwise, their dyno results for these headers can't really be compared to others.

What good is a Nismo on a dyno when they're retuning it and all the mods that make a Nismo a Nismo are changed in some way

Good point. Haha

Mike's car is like mine extremely fine tuned with a lot of extra attention where as the regular cust gets a good tune but no tuner can spend that kind of time with 1 car.

It is nothing you add to the car it is something you modify on it,and Z1 stumbled upon it.

370Z JT 09-14-2013 03:39 PM

Sounds like its a "free" mod that can be done easily.

brucelidat 09-14-2013 03:39 PM

So basically, we won't be able to replicate their results without having them do the tune is what you're saying. Then to really get an idea of what the rest of us might expect from these headers, we definitely need some before and afters by people who don't get it done through z1.

Not disagreeing with you, just saying what makes a Nismo a Nismo after the exhaust is the tune, in which both are changed and other things added, so the statement of "even a Nismo can't touch Mike's numbers" doesn't mean jack

Z1 does make the power mod available. I think its cool they provide a service for customers who are tuned at their location and it doesn't hurt that it is a viable mod for power. We have a mass produced engine. Some run Bette than others... I think mike got a great motor and his car can put the power down. Lightweight wheels etc.

But the mod isn't free, and why limit your clients to the people that live within 500 miles from you?

I just talked to Chuck and he's gonna call me back to see if they can do it for me

If you take the part off the car and send it to them I'm sure they will do it,it doesn't take that long.
