Can anyone chime in on the sound difference between a resonated TP (such as F.I. Res TP) and the ART pipes? Or is their basically no difference in sound??
AND, coming from my F.I. HFC how much more sound will i get?

Can't decide on which one to get with the header combo D:

-Thanks

I went from CNT resonated pipes to z1 test pipes to art pipes all in the same week.... regular test pipes had ridiculous rasp at 2500 rpm but I also have a non res exhaust.... Art pipes took care of 90% of the rasp but actually mellowed out the tone perhaps a bit to much.... The resonated pipes had a bit of rasp and plently of volume....I would say all will be louder... With the art pipes being the quietest of the test pipes

Thanks for the reply man. So if i were to go ART from my HFC i probably wouldn't notice much volume change? (Performance gain of course!)
By the way, im running F.I. 12' res now (My signature is wrong now, just realized that:shakes head:)

ART pipes will be a tad quieter than HFC usually

And will these headers even change the sound much?

Joepro 08-08-2013 08:38 AM

the headers did change the tone quite a bit, has a mean low growl to it, honestly the art pipes took that away, I am highly considering tracking down some DE resonated test pipes...nothing against the ART pipes, just changed the sound more than I though they would, best bet for those looking to dump the cats and not add a lot of sound volume.

I'm thinking about buying some fast intentions resonated TP and throwing these headers on. Hopefully that sounds wonderful :happydance:

I'm excited for the dyno/tune results. I hope they come out w/ HR flanges soon.

tried installing these headers today... shop had to remove coolant line to get to the driver side header which took additional labor and coolant.
AND upper o2 sensor seized in my oem header. Have to wait till tuesday for o2 sensor to arrive.

shitty day for me:shakes head:

i would be running z1 header, fast intention resonated test pipe, motordyne y pipe with resonated pipe option (possibly HFC option if too loud) and tanabe y pipe back

Shop shouldve did what I did. I didn't have to remove my coolant line. I loosened the driver side motor mount, jacked it up slightly and my life became 50 thousand times easier for the driver side header!! Should've got a set price cause your labor will add up considerably if you're letting them quote you on the fly....

Well just got the call from my tuner, the car feels great and very responsive but the results unfortunately for my particular Z were the same. I do not have a graph yet so I need to travel up there to SA and start making some serious decisions about going FI or just a different route.
Numbers the Same as in 309whp 269wtq. The only difference I see in the charts the climate conditions. When I hit 322whp 267wtq the temp. was at 72 degrees Fahrenheit and the previous dyno run and today's the temperature is and was at over 90 degrees fahrenheit.

Same dyno too? Temps can easily account for the power difference. Torque is showing up though. 269lbft a lot for 309whp. On VHR's, we don't see 270lbft unless someone is over 330whp. Is it a dynojet?

Yes it's on a dynojet.
