Definitely going to wait on these until they come out with the HR flanges but from what I've heard this will cost an additional $150-$200 from the existing price from speaking with Jon at Z1. That's fine though since I would rather have either the HFC's or Test Pipes that are made for the 370Z. Hopefully it won't be too long before the HR version comes out.

You understand that it's just pipe with flanges on it, right?

There's nothing about them that make them better suited to a 370Z over a 350.

If they hadn't changed the flange (I suspect to allow mounting a larger/different catalytic converter), they would literally be the same parts for the 2004 350Z through the current 370Z.

I guess you've missed the hubub about these headers?

They're yielding far more gains than any other shorty and more than some longtubes. That's why people are using them.

You just need the proper test pipes and HFC to go with them.

I know that but seems silly not to offer different flanges for the guys who already has art pipes for the 370 like I have and others that have done hfc or test pipes etc

Yeah, it's kind of a bummer if you already have TP/HFC/ART Pipes.

You could find a buyer easily for your ART pipes, though.

Just an option since it sounds like the headers with the "correct" flange on them will cost more than the current version, meaning you'll still end up paying more than you would if you sold your 370z ART pipes and bought the 350z ART pipes.

Yes I do realize this as its been mentioned quite a bit in this thread. I would just rather use the HFC's or Test Pipes that are specifically made for the 370Z because I am looking at specific companies for one or the other. I do not want to use their HFC's or Test Pipes. I am not planning on making any of these changes to my car until early next spring when I'll be getting my FI CBE so waiting is not an issue for me.

.... again, you realize it's just metal pipes with flanges, right? No magic, no mojo, nothing special about them.

Most (90+% or so) companies that make a TP or HFC for the 370 make one for the 350. The piping diameters will be the same, the cats will be the same, only difference is the flange.

You will pay MORE for no difference at all in performance or fitment. That's my point, they work the same...you will pay more... for absolutely no reason what so ever.

yeah only diff between 350z and 370z is the flanges.

Also, most companies that make the 370z hfc or test pipes also make them for the 350z so you could still get the company you want. But some advice, just get the z1 HFC or z1 TP. You'll save money and get a quality product.

Agreed, unless you want resonated TP's or ART pipes or some other fancy pants thing. :P

370Z JT 07-26-2013 01:22 PM

I want the 370Z flange not only bc I have the ART pipes already, but bc I can easily swap to my OEM cats when inspection comes. Don't want to bother looking for DE cats.

I feel like we're starting to beat this horse to death already

Anyone else?

I know exactly what you are saying and I have looked into that as an option. I realize that companies do have DE versions of HFC's and TP's however as I mentioned I am not going to be buying these any time in the near future. I'm not in a rush to get this done so possibly by the time I am the headers specifically for the 370Z may be available and I would just go with them then. If I was in a hurry or wanted to do it right away then I probably would go and purchase these.

while you may consider it a PITA, as a last option is buying the Z1 headers, a new flange, cut and welding new flange on.

but then again, the 350z TP and HFC are much cheaper than the 370z ones so in fact having to use them is actually a bonus!

The HFC's that I am specifically looking at purchasing are the Fast Intentions HFC's. Their 350Z version and 370Z version are actually the same price online so I wouldn't be saving any money with those.

I know in some of the other 350Z versions v. 370Z versions thats true and the 350Z's are cheaper but I think I am going to be purchasing the Fast Intentions HFC's and CBE so there wouldn't be a difference in that case for me.

As does mine. I am not purchasing the headers anytime soon. Most likely it will be late spring 2014 when it's very possible that the headers with the HR flange will be available. If that's the case I'll just purchase those headers at that time.
