What kind of SC do you have?

Don't some FI options have problems sustaining boost with higher flow headers?

Joepro 06-09-2013 08:25 PM

I would doubt these would drop the back pressure enough to cause any problems I know many 350z guys ran headers on their SC setups. The real answer is we do not know until someone does it...

diddy535 06-09-2013 08:30 PM

Fair enough I wasn't sure myself, I just thought I had read something on it before but you're totally right. We won't know until we know!

I am sure someone will beat me to it, I am going to run NA this summer with the headers and then do a GTM kit over winter, that's the plan anyway. I should have the headers in hand Wed, hopefully I have the car back soon, still at the dealer, they haven't touched it yet...

I ran F.I. LTH with my stage 1 SC and gained nor lost anything. I would imagine the heat was lower since there was less restriction but I never got a change to measure any real temps on the exhaust side.
Really for an open header-back setup you will need to pair the SC unit with the open exhaust setup. The Stage 1 by GTM really does not benefit nor hurt with it, not sure on the 1.5/2 units.

I just got off the phone with z1. They have already ordered the headers and expect them to arrive in 4 weeks. These ones will require 350z cats or TPs to fit though. They have plans to make one with the 370z flange, but it's not for sure yet. IF they do make it happen, it will be several months down the line. Pricing for the headers is $895.

Now the question is if it's worth it to get these if I also have to change out my FI HFCs for the 350z ones. Anyone know how 350z HFCs will fit with FI CBE exhaust?

370Z JT 06-11-2013 01:42 PM

Dang. Don't know if I can't wait that long for the Z34 flange. Decisions, decisions. Lol

brucelidat 06-11-2013 01:46 PM

The z34 flange is planned, but it's not for sure it will happen, he said. The real question is will adding these headers really give me 20whp if I already have HFCs and exhaust since most people have those 2 and probably g3 intakes as well.

They gave me 30 and I already had G3, test pipes and exhaust

They bolt up to any 370z exhaust no problem. Don't cheap out on test pipes cause the Top Speed pipes had a TERRIBLE fitment putting a lot of strain on my entire exhaust system. Swapped the Top speed pipes for Z1 and the Z1 lined up everything perfect. Researching, a lot of the 350z guys had issues with the fitment of the Top Speed pipes too.

Planning to swap out my FI HFCs for the z1 350z HFCs when i do the headers. I also have FI CBE, should fit fine right?

You only got 317 whp with the headers? Do you have an exhaust also?
