Why don't you just post the code?

Or are they just telling you this and you are repeating it back to us?

Misfire code should be a P030x series number...

The last digit is the cyclinder that it is misfiring on.

The exhaust manifold is your stock headers.. If they weren't removed when you put your test pipes on then you shouldn't have a leak there.

Here is an example of using the Internet if you have the code number

OBD-II Trouble Code: P0300 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected

No need to post with exclamation marks as if you were yelling when people are trying to really help you.

If you are that inept about mechanics, take it in to a reputable local shop.

i dont want to take it back to the dealership because they charge insane hourly costs i already paid 140 with tax for the diagnosis! and i went to a shop that had the gasket cut out and they showed me the old one and it was burnt threw completely on one side! in a couple of days my tank of gas will be empty that i filled up at a sketchy gas station and the weather is going to be warmer and if the light is still on ill take it to z1 motorsports and see what they say.

i appreciate the help and i am not trying to be rude, im just trying to explain the situation the best i can, and i dont think the diagnosis sheet they gave me from the dealership says the exact code that it was throwing, it just says that it was a random misfire and an exhaust leak.

Some DTCs, especially those related to emissions, take a few drive cycles to clear. If you fixed the problem, it should disappear after a day or two or three.

There could still be a leak (hairline crack) or the O2 sensors themselves may be damaged.

If you can get the exact codes its throwing it will help pinpoint the problem more quickly.

There's different codes for various O2 problems (out of range, failures to warm up, etc.), high fuel trims, and also misfires -- all three kinds of codes could be in there.

BTW, if autozone won't do it for free, or its a pain to drive to one and have them do it, any walmart or autoparts store will have very inexpensive code readers (make sure its one that will give you the actual DTS code numbers -- not just clear CELs absent of the info!).

I usually see them in either orange or blue -- just make sure it gives the actual codes.

It should be around $25 and an invaluable tool for troubleshooting problems! They generally come with a listing to look up the codes, otherwise you can just go here OBD-II Check Engine Light Trouble Codes

There's links for generic codes as well as Nissan specific ones.

You may still have to follow up trouble shooting the old fashioned way (i.e., under the car with a flashlight and tools), but to get pointed in the right direction, using the OBDII info is greatly helpful!

i am going to to get the code read tomorrow because i looked at the sheet from nissan and they didnt post any of the code numbers

the code was Po300 random/multiple cylinder misfire, i cleared it today in the morning and hasnt come back yet.

Exactly the code I kept pulling....

Check, around the intake mani while the car is on... Also, just a heads up. My MAF sensors were dirty and had dry water spots.. Guess small amounts of water went through cause of my CAI.

I haven't thrown the code since :-)

i drove the car all around today for a total of around 100 miles and the code did not get thrown once, could it be the colder weather from the last week (it was around 10 degrees out) since today was around 40 and tomorrow is going to be in the high 50s so hopefully everything will be fine still
