aFe Power cold air intake, anyone have some info??
does anyone has seen this intake before?? it is pretty similar to the stillen gen 3.... i know that the gen 3 is the best cold air intake out there with best results for the 370z but this intake is pretty much the same design, it just has one big air filter (dry) instead of the two cone filters from k&n (oiled)......this intake looks like there is no grinding or citing needed for the install, and aFe claims it has made gains of 15whp+ but then again its hard to prove.......this intake is actually cheaper.... i have seen it for $470 free shipping, i have tried looking for threads been posted about it but havent found anything on it.... can someone give me any info or imputs on this intake..... looks like it is worth the price and the similar gains compared to stillen gen 3 and easier install and maintenance.....advices will be highly appreciate it..... thanks.....
here is a link to a picture of the intakes Greddy Cold Air Intake System 2009-2012 Nissan 370Z (VQ37HR) - P/N: 12529003 actually on this above website the intake is $445.... |

i spoke to a tech in afe and he claims the intake peak power is 15whp 16tq on a mustang dyno meter. which looks like good numbers to me.....he also stated that on the installation there is no need to gring or cut anything, is straight through bolt on....

this is actually the Takeda afe, i think Greddy makes it too, but if am not mistaking the ones you are talking about which are $300 and some change are the short rams which in reality dont make power....... but this cold air version looks like the stillen gen 3 and according to their tech makes 15whp 16tq....

compared to the stillens yea they are cheaper..... usually run for $495 free shipping and on the link i posted they run for $445..... did you find them cheaper somewhere else???? the question is are they worth it? compared to the Stillens Gen 3???? since everyone loves the stillens,,, am debating on getting the stillen gen 3 or this one the aFe takeda stage 2 cold air.....

if you are going to buy this, consider the takeda intake. it is essentially the same exact thing, except it is $100 cheaper. Also takeda makes splash guards for the filter.(bought seperately) This is the first time ive seen this greddy intake, so im not exactly sure if it comes with a splash guard but im sure they make one or you could fit the takeda guard over it. Im not saying that you NEED a splash guard just letting you know they sell them seperately.
