Custom exhaust?

So I have the Topspeed pro1 exhaust with the single midpipe. I've been throwing around the idea of doing a custom midpipe. The midpipe that comes from Topspeed is 2.5-2.75

I've been throwing around the idea of doing a custom midpipe. The midpipe that comes from Topspeed is 2.5-2.75 inch please correct me if I'm wrong. What I want to do is have a new 3inch midpipe made with a high performance resonator. What do you guys think about this idea? I feel like I'd gain some power and would probably sound killer. It wouldn't be expensive my friends shop would do it for me.
