I want to starting adding a couple of mods and o fcourse tune, MY BIG QUESTION IS are the stillens gen 3s intakes worth it?? Combine with Art pipes which i want to get them, and not o sure if to go with Berk, invidia, or Ark exhaust, combined with those bolt ons and tune i should be getting some good numbers, now i just dont want to go through removing the bumpers every time the filters need some cleaning, can they be clean while on the car with out removing the bumber???? Sorry for the rockie questions but the 370z is new for me am still use to my 350z.... Please any help advices would be highly appreciate it.... Should i get the stillens gen 3s is it worth the $546?? Am i going to see good gains in power from them?? HELP.... Thanks....

Welcome.
Search this site for all the info on the Gen 3's you could possibly imagine. It's been covered from just about every angle. Nissan 370Z Forum - Search Forums The Gen 3's are proven to pick up gains. I suggest looking at the Parts For Sale section to pick up a used set to save a few bucks....that, or wait until November when Stillen has their black friday sale. FYI, the filters require cleaning every 30k miles or so, which is about 3 years. As far as exhaust, those are all good choices and really comes down to the sound you want. Fast Intentions is a popular choice, but be prepared to wait your turn in line. |
The G3s are amazing and get crazy gains, but you will have to remove the bumper to install them and clean the filters when they are dirty. If you want some CAIs that do not require the bumper to be removed take a look at the k&n typhoon intakes. They are short ram intakes and do not require the removal of the bumper, but they do give you some power..not as much as G3 but still. It's a compromise.
As far as exhaust it really depends what you are looking for in sound. It also depends how long you are willing to wait and spend. If money and time is not an issue then check out the F.I. CBE, it's amazing. If you can't wait and want a good exhaust with bark and deep tone check out the ARK exhaust. I personally prefer my exhaust to be quiet at idle so I like the invidia gemini. A really good set up that I recommend is a tanabe exhaust with a motordyne y pipe. A fellow Z enthusiast recommended it to me and it sounded amazing but it's a little too loud of me at the moment. Hope this helped! Take care of the Z! |

.......thanks for the advice i might get the stillen intakes, i called them and talk to them and said that there is a long period of time untill they need to be cleaned.. I was also looking at the F.I exhaust which sounds really nice but for the price i think the Ark Grip might be a better choice dont know, i still have some time before i start buying parts i just needed some advice on what to buy and what not to buy for the 370z..... And again thanks a lot for the help.... |

Well i think i might go for the Stillen gen 3s, the guys at HP Logic who tuned my 350z was telling me that if i dont go for the Gen 3s then short rams are not worth it, they say just keep the stock airboxes instead, so i might go for the stillens, and as far as exhaust i like the mellow and quiet note at iddle and cruisimg but once u open the throttle i like to hear it scream..... I was really liking the Invidia Gemini souds quiet and deep but for sure am getting the Motordyne Art Pipes with the exhaust i get, F.i exhaust looks really good and a lot of people like it, i went to their page and they are selling it for $1k+ but i think that for that price i rather go with the Ark Grip, i dont know just an opinion, i dont like the dual exhaust sound like the AAM or HKS i like the dual but with X pipe like the Ark the Berk and the Fast intentions... The Tanabe sounds really good but i think is too expensive and it doesnt even come with the Y pipe, but i still have time to save some cash and buy parts, install them on one day and then tune some other day, and i am loving the 370 is just a total different car from the 350 i dont know they feel a lot different, if i took care of the 350 as if it was my everything lol i think i will do the same with the 370z........... Thanks a lot for the help.... Am thinking i might get the Stillen Gen 3s then thanks a lot  |
I have the g3's, art pipes and invidia exhaust, all purchased from jomer (fbnissan). Do yourself a favor and get a quote from him on the parts, best pricing ever and you can get the total package for less than what you might spend on just a cbe, unless $$$ is no concern.

FBNISSAN gave me an awesome price on the ARK exhaust months ago but i passed for the Fast Intentions and im glad i did. I had an MXP prior and it was a great souding exhaust but the FI is a class all its own and worth the coin.
I had G3's on my G and now i have Injen's on my Z. They pretty much put out the same gains. I feel its a personal preference on looks at this point with most of these intakes since all the CAI's are fairly the same with gains. I like having the painted tubes rather than the polished ones, the get dirty so fast and show swirls easy. Dont get me wrong i liked them but they were a hassel to keep looking nice which is something i just do. I also have ART pipes, add a nice flair to the sound of any exhaust. Def a good investment on these cars. Def go with the UpREV to bring it all together, its great having the easily adjustable modes and what not and a properly tuned vehicle. Good luck bud |

The bumper has to come off for both the Injen's and the Stillens. Removing the bumper is actually easier than it seems, I can remove it in about 15 minutes. Just be patient and careful and follow the DIY's and you'll be fine. As for the Fast Intentions, you can only buy that direct from Fast Intentions, you'd have to contact Tony.
This is his thread and he can be found Here Its a hot commodity and you'll pay a bit extra for it but in most of our opinions, it well worth it. Any questions about it too, i'm sure Tony would be more than happy to answer. He's got tons of knowledge and makes a top quality product. All the other parts i would definitely get them from FBNissan though. He's a great dude too. And yes, save the tune for last, there's no sense in tuning when you will be retuning after other mods. I think you'll be quite pleased with your results no matter what route you take in the end. |

Check this DIY out http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...de-ak370z.html That will give you a better idea of what you are dealing with. Go for the G3's! Just do it, they make good power, and give your engine a lot better sound, not to mention they are easy on the eyes too! :tiphat: |
Also, you could replace the filters that come with the G3's from an oiled filter to a dry filter, has to be cleaned less frequently if that helps...
