NEW! AAM Competition S-LINE Midpipe (H-pipe/Intermediate pipe combo)
Interested? Please forward your attention to the group buy thread!
http://www.the370z.com/group-buys/65...ml#post2116113 First and foremost, thanks to everyone who have been extremely patient with me on this project, I know it's been a long 5+ months, but here it is! One of the bigger restricting components on the 370z is the exhaust system. Nissan figured this out when they redesigned the catback system for their Nismo 370z to adapt a more free flowing system which included, a redesigned H-pipe with dual outlets vs their Y-pipe with a single outlet, and a more free flowing muffler. With the revised exhaust system and a slight tweak to the ECU, Nismo 370zs gained 18 crank hp from the factory With the success of the Nismo exhaust, AAM Competition took this one step further and designed the S-Line Midpipe, a true 2.5” exhaust system connecting the factory catalytic converters to the stock rear muffler. The factory Nismo H-pipe and intermediate pipe starts off at 2 1/8” from the factory catalytic converters, opens up to 2 1/4” at the intermediate pipe, then taper back down to 2 1/8” by the time it hits the muffler. Although we would never doubt Nismo parts, we took on the challenge of designing a larger and more efficient system. The S-Line midpipe has been dyno proven to gain +22 hp to the wheels and +20 ft lbs of torque over a stock 370z, equipped only with our short tails, all else stock! AAM Competition S-Line Midpipe is handcrafted with mandrel bent 2.5” 16 gauge T-304 stainless steel. The system consists of a 2.5” H-Pipe and a 2.5” resonated intermediate pipe. This makes it perfect for those who want the added performance of an upgraded midpipe but want to keep the factory muffler to keep exhaust volume down, or those who already have our short tails and would like to continue the rest of their exhaust system. In response to a member wondering if the piece can be sold separately:
When we designed the H-pipe, we did make it interchangeable to fit the Nismo intermediate pipe, will not fit base 370z intermediate pipe considering that's a single inlet piece; however from a production standpoint they do not want to split it up. Gain wise, I would have to do a lot more testing if I were to only sell the H-pipe separately. Believe it or not, you do not want to upgrade the H-pipe only, as the oem system both Nismo and non Nismo is extremely restrictive (diameter wise) |
$900... Wow.
|
Me want...how do i order? Special discount with the short tails?
|
balls... 900 dollars? it's pretty much equal price to the current catback then.
actually it would be a bit more than the catback... |

There has been talk about discontinuing our current true dual, this way we can design a "criss cross" style axle back to mate up with this midpipe. That axle back can then also be sold just as an axle back, or combined with this as a complete true dual. I attached a quick render our engineer drew up
Nothing set in stone yet |
As of right now the MSRP is $899 with sale pricing being at $849. If there is enough interest, say 8+ sets I can most likely bring it down another $50
|
i'd honestly buy this if it was just the H-pipe (no plans to really swap out the mid-pipe yet), and at a reasonable cost :)
ive had money put aside for an H-pipe (from fast intentions) for the longest time! |
How much with the titanium tip short tail? (Nismo fitment)
|
Mind me asking why a "H" and not a "X"? This H with the shorties have better gains than any cat back on the market isnt it?
|
Does the price include gaskets + new hardware; e.g. bolts, etc.? How much shipped to 92604?
|
So what is the price discount price combined together with the titanium short tails?
This price range looks to be about higher than the F.I CBE.. When is shipment gonna be available and is there any wait time? |
Working with the boss man to see if he's willing to split up the product to full midpipe to H-pipe only. I'll get back to you guys shortly on that. When we built the H-pipe it was mocked up to fit stock location, but we are going to test fit the H-pipe on ONLY, to double check
The product does come with all gaskets, bolts/nuts/gaskets Why we kept it as an H-pipe and not X-pipe? Again we sought after the Nismo design and just bumped the piping diameter Combined with short tails I can knock off $150, on any variation of the short tails. As far as inventory, I should have about 5-8 sets of short tails coming off the line by the end of tomorrow. I have 2 complete sets of the midpipe at the moment, and should have a total of 5 by the end of Friday |
what is the piping diameter of the nismo exhaust?
|
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wont this H/Mid pipe combined with Short Tails be obscenely loud?
Like 95+ dB loud? Instantly pulled over by any police loud? Kicked out of most autocross events and some race tracks, loud? I've run the car on the dyno with the nismo muffler removed, and it was 'hearing protection required or else' loud. |
It'll be louder, but not much louder. There are added resonators to help.
IDK If i can handle that price! Uh oh |

They like to get up early on Saturday mornings and warm up both of their Harley's. I go run the Z for a while every weekend (I haven't been driving it since the summer) but since I have the Nismo exhaust, it isn't really loud... |
setting up the group buy thread now,
thanks for being patient guys |

No tune that will be after I put on the M370 but my base was 296 at Illtech they have a stingy dyno they said. Now I have the genIII's and the new mid pipe I'm hopping to be high teens 319ish then with the M370 and a tune 330-340 hopefully. But yeah I will just let Lawrence know what I'm doing he should be ok with it.

Stock Nismo midpipe weighs 32 lbs Stock base midpipe ?? I'll weigh this tomorrow since I know we have one laying around in the shop I was actually very shock at how light the H-pipe portion was on the stock Nismo. Quote:

The difference between AAM and going to your local muffler shop and having them custom pipe 2.5" back is that they have great quality that no one has yet to have a problem with.. I have heard of almost every other exhaust company have problems. AAM is an exception. One of the most expensive exhaust is Fast Intentions at $1280 or so shipped--- AAM Mid-pipe $899+Short Tails $400= $1299 before shipping... Also, for $1300...we will still have the drone. |

No I meant Illtech in Bellevue that's where I got my first dyno at. My future dynod will be at Intech because I plan on hopefully doing my tune with a little bit of VVEL tunning after I put the M370 and I wanna find some bigger TB's to use and then get a tune.

I'm offering a $150 discount for those who buy it as a complete catback, so it would be $1097 Not sure how many US made/handcrafted catbacks you'll find for that price. If you want cheap, there is cheap but AAM Competition does not qualify to be compared in that same category  |
