Anyone have ARK hfc or test pipes with ark exhaust?

I currently have ARK grip with stock cats on my car and I'm thinking on getting ark hfc or test pipes, I'm wondering if anyone has this combo and can chime in on how much louder it is and if it drones inside the cabin.

Anyone with ark grip knows that it's very quiet and zero drone and I'd like to keep it without drone, a little louder if possible under acceleration.

I do have the ark hfc's with my grip style exhaust. Dude it is AMAZING!!! Their is a significant increase in drone but in my opinion it isn't that annoying or loud to the point that i don't like it. When im feathering the gas and letting it slowly climb in rev's it just sounds sexy!!!! I was doing 60 next to the center divider on the freeway and kicked into 3rd and let it rip....sounds like a damn race car...LOVE IT! I have a vid posted for after hfc install.

If you have the ARK HFC's I would say go with the DTS exhaust system. The tone is more refined and helps with the hiss and rasp as well

I have an ARK exhaust with Fast Intentions HFC, it sounds amazing. I love it.

Dies the ARK HFC'S cause ses light to come on? Just had it come on after 1k miles with them on.

Bandit_Kaine 01-12-2013 01:05 PM

I would think all HFC's/test pipes will eventually cause the light to come on.

I'm UpRev tuned so the light is gone.

I'll be getting the ARK HFC sometime soon.. I love the ARK grip that I have so I hope it sounds just as good with the HFC.

roy'sz 01-12-2013 01:47 PM

It does sound sweet but wasnt sure if ALL cats cause ses light to come on

roy'sz 01-12-2013 02:53 PM

confirmed, cat sensor

Get UpRev tuned, you'll get better power from your mods, different maps, and that pesky light will be gone for good due to cat sensor readings.

roy'sz 01-12-2013 04:07 PM

When I get my g3's and motordyne I will.

Any high-flow cat or test pipe that is aftermarket will run the chance of a CEL light. Common fixes are an extended O2 bung sensor or simply resetting the ECU. The O2 sensor is not used to the increased amount of flow or heat that is transferred through causing the code. Usually under normal power loads it doesn't come on but it depends from car to car, hope this helps!

roy'sz 01-14-2013 11:45 AM

maybe the extensions should come in the kits?

Should but not really their problem. If you look at the Fast Intentions HFC's, they are built with an L joint and extender on it already. You can get em off ebay. the L joints for $30/pair. I bought the straight ones. pack of 4 3" ones for $15 and double stacked on each side. No CEL light since.

do you sell the bungs that help eliminate the ecu code? how much for install? Also what exactly is the function of the bungs? does it fool the existing sensors into thinking that it is stock by pulling it further back from the air flow to slow it down? Just trying to understand it. Any info would be appreciated.

TeamARK 01-21-2013 06:07 PM

You pretty much answered your own question. Since its running richer, it will throw a cel. Since the sensor is pushed back further, the air/fuel gas will not be read by the sensor.

roy'sz 04-21-2013 04:02 PM

Hey update...Shout out to Bandit Kaine...if you haven't gotten the hfc's there is a guy selling them for a cheaper price that won't be seen in a while. In my sig is the dyno with the hfc's on there. check it out.
