It wouldnt be anything noticeable. The silicon does not pinch that bad through the support. Everyone always says its a choke point but honestly i dont even think it makes a difference it being pinched like that cuz its still the same diameter no matter how you want to look at it. Through the support it loses maybe an inch on the sides but the top and bottom gets expanded that inch you lost there. So i wouldnt even say theres a loss of air flow. But if it makes you feel better you can cut the support just like the gen 3s. If you do that i would make the cut as smooth as possible to make sure no edges start to cut the silicone with vibration or cut big enough so theres no contact.
