Just out of curiosity,

I've read from a thread, can't find out where, but possibility that a Long Tubed CAI being designed to specifically go directly to the sides of the fangs on the bumper? I mean, for the Stillen G3 intakes, your already cutting, why not have it designed so it would be directed directly over there? Not sure how to upload a pic -__-

JUST CURIOUS

I think the bumper crush bar gets in the way of that.

You're probably thinking of my Fang Based CAI ventilation system here:

There is no commercial equivalent on the market that I am aware of..

Especially with a cooler (or multiple coolers) starting to hog the airflow coming in the front and heat it up, I'd really like to see some sort of solution to get fresh air up to the Stillen G3 filters. Either some variation on the Mine's holes (more complicated to get mfg'd, but leaves the fangs available for brake cooling later), or something like Modshack's setup, but directed at the G3 filters.

Modshack,

I installed your cai ventilation system last night and all went smoothly. I do have a one question. Does a 2.5" tube allow enough air to enter the filter area - I noticed after my installation that you trimmed the aluminum flanges. Was that to allow more air in off the sides or just to make it fit? Also, were you able to route the tubes so they can't be seen from the front - haven't been able to do that yet. Thanks.

Cool!

The front flanges were trimmed to fit better (bring the bottom of the flange up flush with the Fang opening) , the back flanges were ones I had leftover from another project and were already cut. You should be able to get plenty of air through there regardless..

On the tubes, I got the drivers side out of sight. The Passenger side still shows a little, but I went in from the top with a long Zip tie and snugged it toward the top a bit. You really need to look for it now to see it..

I think the new Injen CAI filter fits right behind the fang and looks like a nice alternative to the Stillen G3.

+1 for injen. Similar gains as the g3, no need to cut any holes, and i also heard that injen uses a dry filter which is much more advantageous. I'm not sure on whether or not injen uses a dry filter but if they do, it's a clear winner for me atleast. All in all, comes down to personal preference.

I'm leaning towards Injen for sure.

If anything, likely Injen for me as well.
