Post FI HFCs Install/ SES or CEL Help!!
See pics!!!!
Hey fellas, I need some help, so I had my Fast Intentions Non Resonated HFCs installed about a week ago. I got a couple Service Engine Soon indicators go off. I bought a OBD2 reader. Here are the codes, if anyone can help, or atleast point me in the right direction as to how I can fix it. I'd love you forever. I took it to the dealer, and they wanted to charge me because my car has been "modified." The mechanic did try to clear the codes, they wouldnt clear. Any ideas? Just a guess but I'm gonna have to say that your primary bank 1 O2 sensor is either bad or the wiring is messed up. Reason I say this is the P0031 code. Just can't see that popping up unless the wiring or sensor are junk.

Did these codes pop up right after the install? Sensors could have been damaged during the install. You could get an Uprev tune in which they will delete the loop to the O2 sensors on the cats so you'll never get a code.

yeah man, as soon as we finished the install, turned on the car.. they came right on. I was told to stick some steel wool inside the j-bung of each cat. That unfortunately didnt clear any codes.. ughhh.

I may have to look into getting a tune. I would like to fix it without getting to that point, but I might just have to.

Does your cat have O2 sensor anti fouler extenders on them? If not, you could buy some and see if that helps.
*Edit... I just re-read your original post and realized you have FI cats, so you already have the extenders on there. Hopefully the mechanic didn't use any impact/air tools to get your cats off, as that can easily damage the sensors. I'm thinking one of the sensors is damaged and needs to be replaced.

I just googled it, and on another forum, a guy was saying something about those things cause fuel problems. Im not sure if thats the case with our cars, but I'd be willing to check it out, and give it a shot.

Hey OP, your FI cats already have a "J" style type of extender on there... So honestly I think one of the sensors was damaged during the install.

Yeah, you are right on the O2 locations. I can almost guarantee that a sensor was damaged due to using impacts tools. Thats is a huge NO NO when it comes to removing the cats or exhaust manifolds! Or atleast remove the sensors first before you use impact tools
