I don't know that it will help much, we would need logs, meaning a real-time string of logged parameters, usually in excel or CSV format.

I think you'd be good with just replacing that sensor, though. Seems pretty cut and dry.

ok, thanks man. dude, I REALLY appreciate it!

I know its a bit late now but I did my HFC's just a few weeks ago. Am I the only one on here who took off the intake boxes/pipe?? This made the demon bolt easy to get to with a long extension, just a straight to it. I had them both off in less than 5 min once the airbox was removed.

I had no CEL light.

You're very lucky then, because even with the long extension we had, and the air boxes & tubes removed, the damn bolt wasnt budging an inch. One cat, we cut off. The other, we got lucky and the bolt snapped off. Thank the lord, because it was gonna be a loooong night.

It took quit a bit of force and an extention for the handle but they did pop off. Does Nissan not believe in torque values? They seem to be on there as tight as possible :)

It was a 2 day job, we tried cutting the head off the bolt, we tried burning it off, it just sucked... BIG time.

*UPDATE* I just bought one o2 sensor for the exhaust manifold, I picked up some Anti Seize compound, and Advance Auto Parts lets you rent out o2 sensor sockets. So it looks like next week, I'll be addressing this issue.

True story! haha

but seriously wtf is that?

I don't think I can say I have ever seen that.

MJB 01-01-2013 03:14 PM

Ok, I think I know what it is... give me a second to upload the pic

OP- Did the mechanic take those sensors out when they installed the HFC's?

eastwest2300 01-01-2013 03:15 PM

ok sweet man, thank you bro.

eastwest2300 01-01-2013 03:16 PM

Brother tell us everything you know.. I think the second picture is the best picture. It appears that nothing has spilled on it, and its coming directly from the o2 sensor itself, as if its leaking out or something.

No. They weren't touched. I was there.

EW and myself did the install.
