Default Greddy TI-C Silencers Removed, Video

Well after some thought I decided to remove my silencers from my Greddy exhaust. As I've stated before, I love anthing that has to do with an exhaust being loud and raspy. That's me. Plus I like the way they look now without the small holes. I didn't get a chance to start it up yet. Can you believe that. I will tomorrow though. Should sound great IMO. Plus it should free up a little HP.

The removal was pretty simple after I found the correct tool to pull them out. All I did was remove the three bolts that hold the the tip on. Sprayed the the lip around the silencer with some PB blater and let it sit for a few. To pull the silencers out I found a old shock I had from my 350 hatchback. If anyone knows what it looks like it has a small ball joint on the end that can't come off. So I took it and put it up into the exhaust just past the silencer and give it a couple little test pulls to make sure it would hook the outside lip of the silencer within the exhaust. I felt it would grap a hold pretty well without slipping. So I went with it. Came out pretty easy with a quick short burst. Reinstalled the tips and good to go. Here's some quick pics. I'll post some more tomorrow. I've been running around with my head cut off these last two days. So enjoy.

Before (this is with the tips removed)

Silencers Themselves

After with tips back on

Update

Here a quick video of my exhaust setup with silencers removed. This baby is loud. Especially at 3000 range. When driving at this range it creates a nasty drone inside the car. Cruising isn''t so bad. But this is "not' for everyone. If my car was a DD I wouldn't have it. And I love loud. I don't know what I'm going to do on long trips.

Sounds great, now do you have the GTM test pipes on this set-up? How's the rasp compared to with the silencers, any difference?

It took about 15 min. to do both. Probably the same to reinstall. Takes more time to rmove the tips than anything.

Yes I do. There is rasp. But hard to tell now after removing the silencers for how much louder and deeper sounding it is.

Did you ever have the CBE installed by itself without the Test pipes? I'm interested if the exhaust alone is raspy or if its the combo with the test pipes.

No I didn't. I wouldn't think the exhaust would be raspy, especially with the silencers left in. TP usually cause rasp though.

Non resonated means there just pipes. Like straight pipes. No materials on the inside to slow or restricted flow. Also the resonated pipes help with emissions a little more.

@Staples, i have the ti-c exhaust on my G37 and it sounds great. However they are different systems. Greddy makes the ti-c for the Z in 80mm turbo true dual piping and the G's system is a regular 60 or 70mm piping that is Y-pipe back. So for a G you would also need a y-pipe to make it a complete catback
