have the person doing the work seal the leak and rotate the cf piece to the top or near the top so the damage from the bottom isn't visible and bolt it in place.

I'm sure someone with this setup can correct me if I'm wrong and thats not possible.

But I'm sure you should be able to rotate it to hide the Boo Boo
