HKS knockoff
 

A friend of mine bought a HKS knockoff and it sounds like poop. I'm suggesting a magnaflow race muffler. Anyone have any experience with customizing an exhaust?

What exactly are you looking for? Input on how a custom exhaust might sound? Or how much it costs or the difficulties?

Also, I'm kinda curious - I didn't realize there finally was a HKS knockoff (granted I didn't look that hard). I was wondering if there would ever be a exhaust similar to the 350z X0-2 exhaust for the 370z, haha.

He got it second had for $100. Super cheap, and given his light use of Z it shouldn't come apart too soon. It sounds too ricey. If that's even an accurate description. Low idle low rpm it sounds deep. Up near 2000rpm and up it high note. Looking for input to reign in the sound a bit.

BTW: his is a 350Z not a 370.

In all seriousness, it'll probably cost the same amount as buying the actual thing to make it sound good.
