Hks exhaust removing emissions shield?

Ok so for this exhaust I know we have to remove that black shield that is in the way on the passenger side muffler. My question is has anyone seen

Ok so for this exhaust I know we have to remove that black shield that is in the way on the passenger side muffler. My question is has anyone seen melting or an adverse effects of doing this? I mean those are fuel lines! Sounds dangerous to me no?
