Ark test pipes

I was just wondering if anybody has installed the ARK Testpipes on their Z and what their experience is. Or maybe ARK HFC? Im purchasing the ARK exhaust from a member here and wondering what compliments the exhaust best also what performance gains are to be expected. Thanx

Well I can't tell you much about just the exhaust but im at 293 whp mustang dyno with stillen gen 3 + Ark Grip.. Exhaust sounds quiet(er) than stock and a little louder under acceleration. i'm looking to add ARK HFC sometime in the future hoping to get over 300 whp and a little more growl out of the exhaust.

Hey the pipes that go from the x pipe to the rear mufflers.....are the hanger rods supposed to be on top or bottom? I bought the exhaust used with no instructions.

From what a lot of our customers notice, they said that the rasp from a resonated test pipe isn't that much less than a straight test pipe. Let me know if you need help with the ARK performance units or a straight pipe like Berk technology's, Both are great!

binary0x01 11-20-2012 03:43 PM

Cabin smell kept me away from straight pipes.

Since I have no idea, what exact smell are you referencing to?

tu_clean 12-25-2012 02:05 AM

I'm sporting the ark hfc's and can tell you that the smell is very minimal and the power difference vs stock was very noticeable. I say go for it.

roy'sz 12-25-2012 03:10 AM

Hfc's or tp's give off smell? Or both? And what is the smell that is beong referenced?

chknhawk 12-25-2012 07:03 AM

That's just the smell of performance and forgiveness...

HFC's don't smell, just TP's, its raw and unfiltered exhaust

roy'sz 12-25-2012 11:48 AM

Thanks for the heads up

pulled the trigger today. 715 installed at ark here in chino. Besides their dog cookie watching us like a armed security dog, the experience went quite well. The thing that i am disappointed with is the whistleing sound, does this ever go away or atleast disapate? I got a little bit of burnt metal smell but thats about it. The car does have a noticeable increase in LOW END TQ.

You mean the hissing on the off-throttle? Nah that's here to stay. It's a property of our VQ's that gets a lot more pronounced with test pipes.

roy'sz 12-27-2012 12:24 PM

bahumbug! oh well...i guess its someting i'm goin to have to get used to. :( but love the sound and performance that comes with it!!!

The noise is very minimal and the smell will go away. Glad you like them:tup: now hit the road and enjoy:driving:

That's the smell of fear leaving the engine! That's what real cars smell like when you push the pedal down... ;-)
