Default Gen III or AEM

Im ready to pull the trigger on a intake, I like both but my question is if I go with the gen III will I need to change fuel air ratio to keep my check engine light off, bc the aem has the little plug in adaptor for that but I don't see anything on Gen III

No you will not need to change anything else with the Gen III to keep from getting a check engine light.

I would get a tune with HFC and exhaust otherwise you will be running pretty lean at full throttle.
