Stillen Gen3 intake alternative

hey everyone, so I've been meaning to buy an intake and was leaning towards the stillen G3, but the more i think about it the less i feel like paying close to 600$ for an intake. i love the HP results and the design is pretty cool as well.. but idk.
so my question is, what are the next best alternatives? as far as "best bang for your buck" goes and still be able to get close enough HP numbers?

thanks :tiphat:

I just had an AEM CAI installed and lovin the look and performance along with ART pipes and AAM short tails. Don't think you can go wrong with either Gen III or AEM.

Hey! You have ART pipes.
How do you like them with the short tails? Ive been debating on getting them but feel like it may be too loud? And do you notice any hp gains?

I love them with the short tails! They are loud, but sound awesome. Every rodder, tuner, and mechanic I meet just goes crazy over the sound. The combination of the ART pipes and the CAI definitely adds to horse power gains and responsiveness according to my butt dyno. It is noticeable from take off through red line. You can check out the sound in this section, within My Nismo with AAM Short tails.

Yes, they provide you with a new reservoir and bracket. It looks the same just in a different place. I don't have any experience with the Gen IIIs, but chose AEM after reading several different reviews. There is a good one on both Gen III and AEM on the MotoIq web site. They both are quality products. I also leaned toward the AEM because its what I have on my GMC diesel truck as well.

is there any major rasp or drone?
I'm sold either way :happydance:

AEM's have a big advantage where it corrects your MAF to the new intake size without tuning. I found mine powder coated in dark grey for $372+ shipping. Minimal gains low and mid, but after 6500, it was substantial, even with a full header & exhaust system already installed. Only issue I ran in to was because my oil cooler was so big, I couldn't use the new windshield washer reservoir.

You will definitely get some rasp and drone from the short tails. There should be none associated with the CAI. The CAI will make the sound of your exhaust more aggressive, a deeper throaty tone.

With the direction of the aem intakes what are the chances of moisture hitting the filter during rain season. In my case I'm concerned about getting moiature into the engine
