Good question....I think that might have to do because they are custom made.

Hi guys. I'm about to receive shipment of my fi cbe and HFCs, and I'm wondering if the delivery/packaging will fit in the back of my 370Z when I pick it up?

Guys, what's up with the 3 hot/cold cycles? Can someone fill me in (and those who are clueless like me)?

No hard driving for 3 separate driving periods prior to installation. After your car has been off and cooled for approx. 3-4 driving sessions, you may then proceed to wail on the throttle as you please.

Is there a specific time length that needs to be satisfied for these driving periods, or can it be variable?

I still don't understand where the term 'hot and cold cycles' fit into this? To me, according to what you said, all sessions seem cold, relatively speaking.

Also, who came up with this, and what exactly does this do (or not do)? Is this standard across all CBE or just F.I.?

I believe all that is needed is 3 normal driving periods. Once the exhaust is installed, drive the car normally, avoiding high revving and full throttle. Park the car, turn off, and let it cool, then repeat. I wouldn't worry about it too much; just take a few trips where the car reaches normal operating temperature and then park it in between trips. For the most part, exhausts usually change tone after a few hundred miles.

I wish I knew exactly what this does, but I can only assume that the heat cycles allow the muffler/resonator packing materials to properly settle and break in. Not sure if there is heat expansion involved, or if the carbon buildup as anything to do with this. I'd like to hear the full explanation also...

This is the first time I've heard about this 3 cycle hot/cold crap, I was #47 and all I did was let the car idle for a couple of minutes to get/burn most of the stuff out and maybe just give it a lil rev or two just to help it along. Then you could just enjoy your sick new exhaust.

Anybody know if the FI 18" resonator is louder than the HKS Hi Power exhaust? assuming everything else is stock.

Not what Tony recommends in the instructions

I agree, break in procedure is completely up to the owner but if Tony recommends this with his units, I'm sure there is reasoning behind it. Besides, its only 3 heat cycles, I don't think he is asking too much. If these steps help the exhaust materials last longer and sound more consistant, then I'm all for it
