As of today we should be finalizing the deal to move in to our new facility which will take us from 3,000 sq ft to 7,000 sq ft. We will start the move on May 1st and should be up and running by July 1st. For the locals and anyone who wants to drive, there will be a grand opening/bbq/car show sometime this summer. This is a move that is long overdue.

Tony
Hey Tony Congrats on the Shop upgrade Where abouts are you moving to? Oh yeah, count me in on the BBQ

See you next Friday

Hey Speedy...seems I keep bumping into you on varioius forums. You had a lot of great info on the 1000RR that I used many times. But back on topic if you can find the email Tony sent you with the invoice when you ordered it will have all the details and P.O. No. which references your build #. I am #541 with expected delivery sometime in July. I too can't wait to finally give the Z it's balls back. Nissan should be ashamed of themselves for such a terrible exhaust note on such a beautiful sports car.

can any one explain why that is? At first I imagined it was just the time to get the oil circulating.. but it almost seems like a valve is open of some sort.. then closes?

I love that open throat-ed sound! I can only imagine what its like with LTH, HFC's, and F. I. CBE!

Thanks ZMan8.. just to clarify.. I understand what cold start refers too.. not temp, but engine state at start... I was asking specifically if any one knew where the shift in sound after 30 secs of cold start occurred.. like a valve closing or something.. with carb'd vehicle, the plate would close... with our cars..its something else..just a exhaust note change from an open throat ed sound, to muted after 30 secs..

Look closely, the car opens throttle partially and revs higher for a little. On cold start I've seen 1400 rpm for 10 seconds before it drops to the 700 rpm idle slowly. The open throttle is what creates the exhaust note. Additionally the cold pipes probably amplify the noise slightly more than warmed up ones.

ahh.. got ya.. yes.. rev's 1400..then slowly down.. but its the openness of the throttle, coupled with the cold pipes, that gives it that note for that short duration.. thanks ZMan8

Yeah I'm pretty sure that's where the noise comes from. My scion even is louder on cold starts

Setup is FI Long Tube Headers, TDX cat-back with 18" resonators, and two 100 cell HFCs welded into the lead pipe on the cat-back.

The cat is out of the bag!
I am so busy that I have not even had time to launch the new 100 cell HFC header option. Here are some pictures of what it looks like.
