Fast Intentions exhaust is here!

Yeah i didn't get any either with my shipment. I'm sure when he has a moment he'll send those out. I'll gladly rep him!

I can't move one tooth to line things back up. I've been fighting with this for a week now.
I misaligned my steering also as I had to disconnect the linkage to get to the Demon Bolt. A trip to Nissan the next day and it was fixed very easily. There is a blue plastic ring at the bottom of the linkage with a blue "nubbie" that points out. On the linkage itself, the split in the clamp (where the bolt is ) has to line up with the blue nubbie on the plastic ring. This prety much lines up your steering wheel. I know it's hard to visualize this without pictures, but if you have been struggling with it for a week or more then you know what I am talking about. If still in doubt, take it to Nissan, but DO NOT LET THEM RE-ALIGN THE CAR IN ORDER TO SET YOUR STEERING STRAIGHT! The linkage has to be reset, otherwise the cable to the Air Bag that wraps around the steering can be damaged as it can be overstretched when at max turn, and your air bag may not deploy. If you get a tech worth his salt, then he'll know what I am talking about. I spent about an hour and a half chatting with the tech, the actual work took 15 minutes and that includes putting her up on the rack, resetting the linkage properly, taking her off the rack, driving in the parking lot to test the steering, then back on the rack to tighten things up.

We both made the same mistake: we took the wrong bolt out when disconnecting the linkage. The larger bolt higher up on the linkage is where we should have disconnected it. There is a key way there that will Not Allow you to misalign things...

Hope this helps!

No Cheater Bar or Impact Wrench could budge it more than a couple of threads and then it just seized up solid on us. Two hours later after we pretty much stripped out the head trying conventional methods, I had to run out to a nearby auto parts place and purchase a $30 Bolt Extractor set. The bolt gave up after that and the installation proceeded without a hitch...

Nissan 370Z Forum - PaulZ370's Album: Fast Intentions HFC/CBE System
The system has finally settled in tone and the computer seems to have adjusted itself to the increased air flow. The exhaust tone now has become pretty consistent - low rumble at idle and a nice growl at acceleration. No drone, no audible hiss, no rattles, and perfect looks. The car seems to be much more responsive to throttle, as well as very "relaxed" on shifting gears - not sure how to describe this except that I think the engine's response to gear changes is not as "jerky"..? does this make sense...?... and of course, there is a whole lot more power available now after driving it for approx 250 miles since I installed the system.

I think I'm there with my setup... and I LOVE IT!

Is the turbo kit still under development ? Haven't heard any updates on that lately either.

I know what you are talking about. I removed the bolt (12mm) on top of the steering knuckle. I removed the steering shaft from the knuckle. The knuckle was never touched on the rack and pinion. The blue collar was never moved. The steering shaft is indexed (keyed) to go into the knuckle only one way. That's where I'm having problems. So I got to make an appointment for the dealer. Thank you.

I'm sure it is. Tony is not one to make empty promises. There's a lot that goes into building a turbo kit, but even more that goes into building a turbo kit that needs to be reproduced identically time and time again.

It would be cool to see a progress thread, though.

I'd be highly interested to know what went wrong then - according to the tech, doing it the way you did should not effect the steering at all. Very curious to know what Nissan says...

Big thanks to Tony, hats off!!! Bravo!!! This is hands down the best exhaust I have ever seen for just about any car. The craftsmanship and fit is amazing. The sound is unbelievable for only a 3.7L v6. My Z sounds so much better than my neighbors Ferrari F355.

I have had Stillen, HKS and Invidia and none hold a candle to FI.

I've seen and heard plenty other exhausts - None are comparable to the FI in either looks or sound, and/or Fitment !!

My exhaust should be shipping this week! Question though:

Is there anyway to get to the demon bolt w/o lifting the car? I'm thinking about trying to soak it a few times in PB Blaster so the shop I'm taking it to doesn't have an issue. Just haven't crawled under there myself to see if you can see / reach it.

It's much easier to get to it and apply a good amount of force to twist it off from the engine compartment, and not from below. You can reach it from below, but it is worse of a nightmare to do so. Mind your steering linkage though... it may just be in the way of the Driver's side Demon Bolt...
