jmlenz 07-10-2009 12:09 AM

forgive me if I missed this but this is 2.5" correct? If so, any plans on making a 3" for FI setups?

Yes it is a true dual 2.5" setup. Possibly down the road for the 3"

We already have a 3" available for the VQDE/VQHR 350Z. But that does you no good!

Possibly or worst case scenario Saturday. We are still here at the dyno so it might be a late one!

Exciting numbers. Looks like you have one killer setup. Glad to see the performance came in so strong to match the awesome sound and looks. Throw in the strong weight savings and it looks like I finally will have to break down and order a cat back.

Kudos to the great engineering and design. You had to be damn proud when the numbers came up on the dyno.

I am VERY happy I ordered this exhaust. Great #'s.

w00t ! I can't wait for the video with some HFC since a lot of us will be running those..I was gonna hold out on buying until someone posted a vid with their HFC on until I bought mine but if FI gets the vid up sooner then I may have to buy sooner !:driving:

shabarivas 07-10-2009 01:05 AM

what did it put down w/ the HFCs?

We are getting set up to dyno the TDX cat back with our HFC's...

Should be doing it now, I imagine itll take a bit of time to take off the TP and put the HFC on.

Here is where we are at so far:

Baseline (Stock)
Run 1- 281.94 RWH / 241.25 RWT
Run 2- 276.51 RWH / 241.52 RWT
Run 3- 284.12 RWH / 240.89 RWT
Baseline Average: 280.86 RWH / 241.22 RWT

F.I. TDX Cat Back 12" Resonators / Stock Cats
Run 1- 300.81 RWH / 251.08 RWT
Run 2- 301.62 RWH / 252.11 RWT
Run 3- 301.30 RWH / 253.89 RWT
F.I. TDX C.B. 12" Res. Average: 301.24 RWH / 252.36 RWT

F.I. TDX Cat Back 12" Resonators / F.I. Resonated Test Pipes

Run 1- 308.99 RWH / 259.05 RWT
Run 2- 310.24 RWH / 258.32 RWT
Run 3- 305.37 RWH / 258.70 RWT
F.I. TDX Cat Back 12" Res. / F.I. R.T.P. Average: 308.20 RWH / 258.69 RWT

F.I TDX Cat Back 12" Resonators / F.I. HFC's

Run 1- 304.35 RWH / 258.33 RWT
Run 2- 304.19 RWH / 258.25 RWT
Run 3- 305.79 RWH / 258.50 RWT
F.I. TDX Cat Back 12" Res. / F.I. HFC's Average: 304.78 RWH / 258.36 RWT

During the dyno runs of the HFC's & R.T.P's I started the think as to why it wasn't making more power. Then I reviewed the numbers and realized that they were pretty standard as far as gains go. Remember that this car has stock air boxes and stock air filters. The car is only taking in so much air so it can only let out so much exhaust. Now, I am confident that the HFC's and R.T.P.'s will play much more of a part when a good cold air intake setup is on the car.

The cat back itself, blew away our expectations! We are extremely pleased with the results.
Bottom line, our cat back gave a bone stock 370Z 6MT an average of 20 RWH more and 11 FT LBS. of torque over stock.

F.I. Inc. 07-10-2009 01:31 AM

I told all of you from the beginning that we would be true with the numbers regardless of how good or bad they turned out!

After seeing gains like that for the cat back, if there was any critics, I think it put them to rest!

I have the dyno charts and I will try to post them sometime tomorrow.

Thank you all for being patient...

Tony
