I'm guessing mine is about a week away from being shipped...
Getting excited!

Hey Tony, I got the exhaust installed this morning. Everything went smooth as butter, except for a couple missing cat gaskets and a few bolts? I wasn't sure if they were supposed to be included, so my technician had to re-use the old gaskets and find some new bolts. Other than that, no complaints. You have another happy and satisfied customer, Tony. :)

In regard to the cat to cat back 'gaskets' when doing the FI, CBE install. These new gaskets do -not- come with the FI CBE. The gaskets, Nissan part# 20692-1E810 are approx. $11.00 each (you need two) and are cheap lets say insurance... to insure that you will be less apt to have an exhaust leak that you will have to address after the CBE install. These gaskets are easily had at any Nissan stealership. If you booger up one or more of the nuts when you remove the factory installed nuts you may also wish you had new nuts Nissan part# 20602-41G00 to use with the FI CBE install. The nuts run about $4.00 each and you need 4. I should mention that you do not see people posting here on the forum of having leaks when using the old gaskets over again but why take the chance is my train of thought.

flashburn 06-01-2010 09:47 AM

Hey Tony, any chance we can get a new update? :)

Vegitto-kun 06-01-2010 02:46 PM

yeah a update would be nice

DarkZide 06-01-2010 03:57 PM

Sorry I didnt go through the 268 pages so dont chastise me.

Are there any installed pics form a natural standing angle? I like this cat-back but im worried the mufflers hang too low/stick out.

NewYorkJon34 06-01-2010 04:17 PM

They do not hang too low, this exhaust is the best one out. Ive never had my mufflers hit anything, you will not regret purchasing the F.I. Exhaust, just get the Carbon mufflers as they look/sound sick and are lighter then the SS mufflers.

Are you getting the LTH's as well? Which resonators did you go with 12" or 18"?

I was number #47, seems like soo long ago, lol I ordered the 18" CF Exhaust and have loved it since the day I got it. I do plan on getting the Coated LTHs, Im getting them coated because I plan on going with the Stillen Supercharger. Also the reason I ordered the 18" resonators was because I planed on removing the cats whenever I got my headers, plus thats what Tony recommended.

So you don't have LTH's yet? Damn, I'm hoping someone who does have a vid so I can see what the CF one (with LTH's) sounds like vs a SS one with the LTH's...

Woo finally see some red next to my name!
Tony I dont mean to be paranoid but is there any particular reason the order after mine has been shipped and mine is scheduled for sometime this week? Just wanna make sure there wasnt some sort of problem during the fabrication.

kielbasa16 06-01-2010 07:57 PM

Also, Im about to replace the cats and though I think I already know the answer to this questions please weigh in if you know.
What will produce less drone/cabin noise when paired with the FI 18" - HFCs or resonated test pipes?

NewYorkJon34 06-01-2010 08:03 PM

HFCs should produce less drone/cabin noise when paired with the 18" resonators

Thanks man thats what I recall reading. Gonna go ahead and order the ERZ HFCs now, and install them all in one shot with my FI. If theres some interest Ill post up a review with pictures and video.

NewYorkJon34 06-01-2010 08:09 PM

No problem man, alil Rep+ never hurt tho, ;) If I was you I'd order the HFCs from Tony at F.I., you already bought the exhaust from him, so you might as well buy another quality piece that was designed to work 100% with your F.I. Exhaust.

kielbasa16 06-01-2010 08:15 PM

I appreciate the suggestion but since most all the reviews are positive for ERZ, price is by far the lowest, and wait time is low - they get my business on this one. By no means am I advocating for another company here on Tonys thread, I am crazy excited to get this cat-back and hes always been perfectly professional.

well my exhaust is CF and im getting the LTH.

now its the extra wait for the LTH since I figure that the exhaust will be finished next week

LunaZ 06-02-2010 07:35 AM

Woohoo!!!!! Only 4 to go!
Guess I'll go get me some exhaust gaskets and nuts to get ready.

I cannot stress this enough. You do not need to replace the 4 nuts that connect the stock cats to our cat back exhaust system. As long as you do not destroy them coming off they will work just fine forever! The stock gaskets mate up better to the stock cats this is why we retain them. They are 3-4 layer metal and again as long as you do not destroy them they will work fine.

TX_370 06-02-2010 02:10 PM

Woot Woot 11 to go!!

So if I'm going to be getting my HFC's and CBE installed at the same time, should I not bother also getting replacement gaskets for them?

I will supply new gaskets for where the headers meet the exhaust.

If you buy everything from us such as you did, then you will get all new gaskets. The only time the two front ones are not supplied is when only the CBE is purchased.

When I get my money together, I will be purchasing the HFCs. I should have bought it together with the CBE! Oh well, better safe then sorry. :tiphat:

370zForever 06-03-2010 07:15 PM

Hey guys,

Just wanna throw a quick question at u guys...12" or 18" resonators and why....

dlmartin81 06-03-2010 07:21 PM

^ Are you kidding?

Here's a simple equation in terms of loudness: 18-res < 12-res < non-res

Besides that, performance is the same. There are a tones of reviews and videos. Pick whatever best meets your needs.

370zForever 06-03-2010 09:31 PM

lol, no I was not kidding...The question was fully based on sound. I know the quality and performance will be the same, but I wanted to know about noise. I'm a dedicated track attacker, but I live in a quiet neighborhood and drive with people in my car. Personally, I would want no resonators at all, but I can't due to the preferences of others. I just needed an opinion of what would be a good balance between spectacularly loud and too quiet.

snapping 06-03-2010 09:38 PM

hm seems like 12 is in the middle...ya for happy mediums lol

Well, if you get the quietest option (w/18" res.) it's still be noticeably louder than stock....that's for sure.
