invidia test pipe questions!!!
i got a 2013 and ive put the k&n short ram intake on it with the magnaflow cat back exhaust and the car sounded and ran good. monday my invidia test pipes came in and i installed them. the things sound like **** from 2-3g reving up or down. making a hissing sound and throwin 02 codes. does anyone have any sugestions to stop the hissing just to make the car sound good instead of a old junker.. worse comes to worse im just gonna throw the stock cats back on

Best suggestion is to either get high flow cats or put the stock cats back on. It should clear the codes and reduce the hissing a lot...probably to a very faint sound with the high flow cats if at all. All test pipes (ART, resonated, and non-resonated versions) will make the hissing and raspiness very audible to varying degrees.
The test pipes are going to amplify the rasp and hissing that the engine is already prone to making. |
Unfortunately test pipes will cause a hissing noise unless you have resonated high flow cats or resonated test pipes. However even with resonated test pipes it will reduce the hissing noise, it is resonated high flow cats that ultimately quiet down the hissing the most.
As for the O2 sensor you can fix that with a O2 bung extension to keep the sensor away from feeling the immense heat that the test pipe produces. My best suggestion would be to look into resonated high flow cats |
if you're from MD we have HFC's in stock
straight pipes on these motors sound mean but in certain rpms you'll get the infamous hiss and rasp |
