Inline mufflers in the midpipe may help with volume, but resonators no matter how long they are will not bring the volume down to balance off the added volume with the bigger piping.

adding HFC's will add volume for sure and some power gains. If you don't have a CAI already, I would suggest that to squeeze a few hp's out.
