Default FI exhaust rust issues?

So at a meet this weekend, I had a shop mechanic tell me that the FI exhausts tend to rust at the welds. Has anyone else run across this?

I'm concerned as I have my system on order (for delivery in Nov).

Pretty sure it's made out of T304 Stainless Steel. It's VERY resistant to rust. 409 on the other hand is a different story as it's a lower quality metal. I would not worry about it. I'm certain if it were a problem, someone would have bjtched a fit on here. There are a lot of guys running F.I. and to my knowledge, this is the first time someone even put F.I. and rust in the same sentence.

Yes, he has our systems confused with a competitor. Our systems are made from T-304 stainless steel tubing and tig welded together. All of the tig rod is 308L stainless steel tig rod.

The only part of the exhaust that is mild steel are the flanges and they are nickel plated. The insides of them are mig welded and then sanded down to a nice port and polished look and feel with no restriction. When they are completed they are sprayed with a high temp. clear paint to ensure the surface of the flange does not rust. This surface is the connection point to another flange and has a gasket sandwiched in between it.

If you have nay questions at all, please do not hesitate to call me directly.

Thank you, Tony

Just wanted to make sure before I plunk down the balance for my system. No offense intended - just wanted to get a consensus from the folks who already have them.

There was a guy with a FI and long-tube headers at our meet this weekend and it sounded mean as hell.
