Fedex just dropped off a nice little package for me... Cannot wait to get this installed. Any tips or advice before I get started?

Rain/Water is a huge problem in my area (Florida weather...). A friend had injen intakes in his Z (similar in design to the gen 3) and he suffered from Hydrolocking...
Anyways, I talked to Stillen and they recommended the gen2 if I was at all concerned with water problems. I understand the power difference between gen2 and 3 - but the water lock issue (as rare as it is - left me uneasy). I also got a great deal on it - so the price was worth the lower performance (compared to gen3 anyways). |

Considering the insane amount of rain we have had this summer, I understand your concern. I drove my beater (2000 Honda Accord) more than I anticipated, we had flood warnings weekly. But this design sits so high in the bumper I was fine. Congrats on the purchase, either way you will enjoy it.

Remove the triangle cross brace it makes life much easier. There is a plastic pop off cover at the base of the windshield which covers the final 2 bolts. After that its a 20-30 minute job. Make certain the sleeves cover all the way around the throttle body and the intake tubes. The fuse box relocate is a non issue, finish that after you complete the install, it makes the placement of it simple. Recheck all your bolts each day for the first few days.

Installed the intake this morning. Have a question though - I've checked and double checked all my conctions and bolts - I'm pretty sure I don't here any "hissing" or air leaking. BUT, I do here a "odd" noise.
It sound electrical. Like a low ringing... coming from the, i'm guessing, the intake manifold area or near the fire wall). Its like a very lowwww "bbbbeeeeeeeeeeee.......". Its constant, its low, and it has me alittle nervus. I hadn't noticed it before the install. Though I admit it could have been there the whole time. Thoughts? |

Here is a video I just shot of the engine running at idle. You can easily here the noise in the video - seems to be louder on the driver side. Once the camera gets close you can hear it right away though - my best discription is an electronic ringing..... Not feeling good right now.

I'm a Floridian and I also have a Gen 3, never hydrolocked even with the air vents in bumper too..injen sits in different location and you can't compare the two. If you are hydrolocking with the filters located at the center and on top, then your interior would flood before you hydrolock.....
