Will RHFC add rasp to my exhaust system?
I currently have the FI CF cat back with no resonator in the mid pipe, and on cold start up I experience a little bit of rasp that goes away. If I add the FI RHFC will this rasp be increased and will I hear it all the time instead of just on cold start.

Yes you will. I would look for resonated cats if I were you. It will reduce or eliminate any rasp and keep a clean exhaust note. It will cost more, but it's better to get now than to spend more money later.

from what i understand, any hfc or test pipe will add rasp to our cars. no matter what. im also considering buying the FI resonated hfc,for power gains and to add a bit more sound to the exhaust...however i dont want it to sond like a bunch of rasp.
but resonated would be the way to go to help avoid the rasp. |
RHFC is the only cat pipe that does not cause rasp. the rest do

that being said there was a forum member who has test pipes with a catback and got rasp, he modded his exhaust with helmholtz resonators and now gets a clean exhaust note. |
Resonated high flow cats will not cause rasp. I've ran them in the past (Fast Intentions) and loved them.

Ah, failed to see the "R" in HFC :P What Staples said.
|
So RHFC will further reduce rasp? Also, will they increase volume much?
|
yes deleting your stock cats whether its test pipes, high flow cats, art pipes (resonated test pipes) or resonated high flow cats, will bump the exhaust volume
resonators help a lot with rasp, inline mufflers help even more |
