I see that most of the posts regarding this issue are using the Berk HFC's. Has anyone using the Stillen HFC's had the same CEL problems on a 370?

Ya, that graph (or lack of a graph) just doesn't look right.
Just going by the max numbers, it was approximately a 20 hp gain and 14 tq gain, which also doesn't seem right. Most people are seeing that with just 1 of the mods, and are more like 40+ hp to the wheels increase with 3. |
Anyone....Anyone...?

6MT, I'm not sure I understand your question. You want to know if anyone with Stillen HFCs has had the same CEL problems on a 370Z. But I'm not aware of anyone who has gotten a CEL on their 370 with the Berk HFCs. So . . . I guess I don't get what you mean by the "same CEL problems" as there doesn't seem to be any such problem. The only one who has gotten a CEL is ssqpolo, but he's running test pipes, not HFCs.
|
OK, I just assumed by reading all the posts that it was the HFC's causing the problem. Maybe the thread should have been titled "Berk Test Pipes" causing CEL issues.
Thanks for clarifying that. Quote:

Thought I might share this info:
CobbTuning.com - Nissan AccessPORT Firmware 1.4.0.0 On the new AccessPort firmware, code P0420 (Catalyst Efficiency Code) is defeated for Stage 2 and Stage 2+ maps. I guess this means when they do release a Stage 2 or Stage 2+ map for the 370Z, we will never have to worry about the CEL from HF cats. Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems like this is what it means. |
fyi, put on Berk HFC's last Saturday and no CEL, not even before an ECU reset
|
Okay, had my Stillen cat back exhaust and Stillen HFC installed yesterday, and so far so good, when it comes to CEL (knock on wood). I disconnected the battery prior to the installation, to clear the ECU. If i ever throw a CEL, I will post.
