Cnt exhaust vs New Top speed cbe
Both are in the same price range just wondering which is better in terms of performance, quality, and noise. Love to here some opinions and reviews.
|
I love my cnt, but tbh they are both probably comprable in quality. the top speed doesnt have rolled metal on the tips so it doesnt look as finished to me. i doubt u could go wrong either way
|
I had a top speed. It sounded great. I heard the CNT in person and that sounded great. I'd also have to agree with the comment above mine.
|
which one would you guys recommend?
|
cnt only because i have one.
or, flip a coin. they are going to be VERY similar in quailty and style. the cnt has a beautiful sound, but i don't know enough about the top speed system to speak much about it |
Efub, I was thinking bout gettin that cnt exhaust. Did u feel any power gains? I love how it sounds but im curious about performance. Lemme kno

Yeah I'll need a tune. So much dang $$. I heard fast intentions LTH and CBE for the first time in person the other day. Sounded great. I wanna hold out for that but it so much $$$
|
I've heard the new topspeed cbe in person sounds great imo. Would love to hear the cnt
|
Edub, do you have or have you seen/heard CNT's long tube headers or know anything about them?

right now im jsut running streaight tp's with my cnt cat back |
I went on CNT's website. They're on there. Unless that website is really old and they don't make them anymore.

I know there was a guy on here that got good results with the single pipe TS exhaust, hopefully the dual will have similar results. I have been endlessly searching but have been unable to find anyone who has dynoed with the CNT or the new TS, I think anything above 10whp makes both these units and extreme value. Had a TS on my 350z and it sounded great, but JHC was it loud. Just wondering why these companies would not do a dyno for advertising unless the results suck, but regardless you are adding good sound!

Recently purchased and installed the Top speed true dual stainless CBE on my 2009....The unit is well made with beefy flanges..alittle roughly finished on the edges of the flanges but well finished faces. All components fit well. Nice welds. Easy to install. The granade type secondary resonators above the mufflers do a great job at cutting drone. This concept being used by several manufactuers is a great option. No fitment problems with my Eibach sways or rear brace rods. As for the vapor canister protective shield that others have had to remove...I just trimmed the corner. The sound is really impressive...It got better with break in. Power comes on at approx 3000 rpm and continues up from there. Definitely no complaints concidering the $500 price tag...Wouild surely recommend...Would like in time ck out the CNT unit...heard excellent expiriences with that unit. Either of these units are breaking the price barriers that have existed with well made dual stainless CBE..I think we all welcome the options. All the best with what ever unit purchased.

Thanks 50. Sounds good. I'll prob go with the CNT. But who knows I might do the top speed. Leaning towards CNT cause they have LTH too.
|
So far leaning towards topspeed

That new track spec top speed exhaust sounds good
|

|
Top Speed
|
I also emailed TOP SPEED. They said the new exhaust the have can give you 14 HP.
|
got a CNT, sounds good, no drone,
although i wish it were a tad louder, considering a HFC at the moment  |
Nice. I remember saying the same thing about the TOP SPEED when I had it.

I was recently trying to research the TopSpeed exhaust as well and I'm more confused now.
This is the website for all the TopSpeed 370z exhaust products. Pictures below to demonstrate configurations. I believe each configuration is offered with TI or steel construction. Track Spec (titanium look tips) http://www.topspeedauto.com/ProductC...s370z-ti-l.jpg Resonator Catback (steel tips) http://www.topspeedauto.com/ProductC...ack-ns370z.jpg Silencer Catback (steel tips) http://www.topspeedauto.com/ProductC...ns370z-non.jpg The TopSpeed system that cycy89 has (notice this looks nothing like the 3 systems they offer. It's dual pipes all the way back with individual resonators on each muffler. The tailpipes are screwed on, vs. welded on for all systems on their webpage) http://i1162.photobucket.com/albums/...607_210002.jpg Then there is THIS one (TopSpeed on eBay) that looks like cycy89's, but has the same part number as the track spec on TopSpeed's website. Aaron from TopSpeed confirmed that auction was for a track spec, but I don't see an option for a resonated track spec on their website nor does this look anything like the track spec at their website. What gives? Do they have one-off models of exhausts? Are they selling their R&D exhausts? There doesn't seem to be any continuity. Furthermore, the whole thing about selling a product called "resonator catback" but then on the side offering a track spec with resonators adds to the confusion as I believe I've read people referring to cycy89's as the "resonated exhaust" or similar, which would not be correct in their product line. Here is the response I got when I asked TopSpeed what the difference was between their systems (at the time of this initial inquiry, I was only asking about the 3 option on their website). "They all fit 2012, and the differences between track spec, resonator, and silencer systems are sound only, They all produce about the same amount of horsepower. The track one is the loudest then the silencer ones (without silencers), then the resonated one and the most quiet one is the silencers one with silencers on it. Personally i like the resonated one the most, but it is really personally preference. " You'll notice this response doesn't mention a track spec with resonators. No idea where that would fall. If anyone has a better understanding of their lineup, let me know. I'm ready to pull the trigger shortly, as soon as I can make heads and tails of the product. Maybe CNT is the way to go. |
Yea saw that too and got confused, i emailed cycy89 and he said its just a different model. Leaning towards the new topspeed cbe still.
|
I have the exhaust that cycy89 has in the photo....Don't get confused...this is the one your looking for...good power...great sound...resembles HKS product...It carries secondary resonators above the mufflers as well as the standard resonators upstream. Great when they break in.
|
are you talking about the titanium picture or the new one cbe withe the "grenades" above the mufflers.

^ Yes thats what im looking to get

HEY Guys :hello:
I just checked Topspeed (TS) ebay store and the one I have (true duel with Ti tips) is probably out of stock at the moment, that's probably why it's not on the listing. TS gets new shipments all the time, so if you want it really bad, just be patient and it'll be here before you know it  OR You can try the Ti-look version! I'm also curious about the sound! :happydance: PM me for any questions (and discounts)! I can also contact TS and put you on waiting list if you want one for sure. And i completely agree with this  Quote:

The listings are always available on the website, but they take it down from the Ebay store if it's out of stock. And I have videos of both versions of their exhaust.
