Just installed my new BERK Test Pipes
So today installed the non resonated test pipes on my Z with the Stock exhaust. Installation was a bitch specially those upper bolts...
After install the butt dyno tells me there is more power and better response which is good but Im really dissappointed with the sound. Its incredibly raspy... so raspy im actually thinking about going back to stock or buying some HFCs Has anybody had this happen that has my setup? or any other test pipes with stock exhaust? |

My stock exhaust sounds raspy on start up, makes me wonder how bad these will be, are you still considering switching back?

If you pair berk tp up with berk cbe. There is little to no rasp at all.

I had the following combinations with berk test pipes (non-resonated)
Stillen exhaust= Horrible rasp inside & outside the cabin. Possibly the worst sounding combination I have ever heard. Stock exhaust= Rasp in the cabin, not so much outside the cabin while driving. Sound was basically stock but louder. Stillen y-pipe and stock exhaust= Horrible rasp. Inside the cabin was torture to say the least. Sound outside the cabin was stock but a LOT louder. Top-Speed Pro-1 True Dual= My current setup now. Inside the cabin you can hear the test pipes hiss around 2.5k RPM up to about 4k (which is when the exhaust is just so loud you can't hear anything). It is crazy loud inside and outside the cabin. The sound is awesome though. Hoping when I finally find a shop to tune my Z that the hissing will go away.
