Berk CBE installed
Last weekend my brother and installed a new Berk CBE system on the Z. The install went as well as expexted. We did the install in my garage on 2 sets of race ramps. Originally, I had thought about going with Tanabe but changed my mind and went w/ Berk after hearing a similar system at the track. I am very satisfied with the Berk system. The sound is just what I was looking for...more of the euro sound and no inside cabin drone. Berk quality is excellent. It is a little more difficult to install than some of the comparible slip joint systems on the market when compared to the flange type connection on Berk. Anyway, the quality is 1st class. Fit and finish is very high quality as well. To remove the OEM system and install the new system took about 2.5 hours with minor adjusments.
I went with the round slash cut tips over the oval tips. The round tips look better than the oval ones in my opinion...better quality and appearance. |

I'm glad you are happy with yours. I just installed mine a couple weeks ago. The install took about as long, however I noticed alot more quality issues than I hoped for. For starters the tips dont line up. One is about 1/8 inch lower than the other. Also some of the bends and welds are not u to part, which might explain the uneven tips. It's not noticeable on the road from a distance, but I can tell and it annoys me.
Just more feedback for others considering a Berk system

One must consider that tip spacing differences will occur simply because each vehicle body to chassy is going to vari. With that said, since there are limited ways inwhich you can adjust the system (flange fit and not slip joint fit) it won't be perfect. One of my tips are approx 1/8" off as well. Also, I find as the system heats up and grows, then cools off, the spacing changes minimally. I really think the body to chassy is the variable as to how this system is going to fit. My stock system was off as well.
