Sweet! Let us know how it sounds compared to your current setup. How long was the waiting period for just the x-pipe? I'm debating doing this as well. My 18" res is starting to sound a little tame to me...

Waiting time was a little more than a month. Not too bad. Maybe il try and make a comparison video of each setup.

Just had my new non res x pipe installed, and it sounds AWESOME. Obviously there is a noticeably higher volume to the exhaust now. I'd estimate there is maybe 40-50% more volume when I'm on the gas. Idling and just cruising at lower rpms it's not bad at all though. Carbon fiber mufflers+ non res sounds so good. I was looking at the connections on the old midpipe to where they connected to the lead pipes and I could see a decent amount of residue kinda melted on from the existing gaskets. The other end that connected to the mufflers was much more clean. Obviously this is from the difference in temperature at the different ends of the x pipe. They guys that installed it said they had no problems and it fit perfectly so I'm guessing it shouldn't be a problem. I linked some pics below. Otherwise, everything looks and sounds great and I can't wait to really get on it after I put a few more miles on it to break it in.

I've also noticed a faint hissing sound when idling since having my new x pipe installed. I can hear it in the cabin and outside the car mainly if I put my head right next to the right rear tire. It isn't a constant hiss, it's more like a short hiss at random intervals maybe every half second to a second. It's not very loud either, I really have to listen to even notice it. Is a hiss like that more common with a non resonated x pipe? I know where the x pipe is welded together it has the cross over hole so I was hoping its just air going across that hole. I hope it's not a leak. I had the shop use the existing gaskets like Tony said.

That's normal buddy and I have the same setup with non resd T.P, look at my signature, the hiss sound is normal its the engine hissing as far as what I have read but I love it makes it sound like a BOV

Yea I know about the VQ hiss on deceleration or after revving the engine, but this hiss is just during idling when the car is stopped, that's the only reason it concerned me.

Hmm naw man if worse case scenario "could" be a leak but just check it out, I mean I don't hear a hiss on mine just that lil rumble it does when stopped at a light or parked. Maybe not tightened enough?

I had another listen when I left work and couldn't hear the intermittent hiss when idling at all. I did hear it when I got home. I have a feeling it's just air/air pressure equalizing across the x pipe connection since that section seemed to be where it's coming from. Does that sound like a possibility? Anyways I'm not worrying too much. I don't have any cel lights or anything. On another note, this exhaust literally makes me smile when I accelerate. It sounds so amazing. I can see where non res might be too much noise for some people, but I absolutely love it. It almost makes my ears ring .

Coming from owning a G37 and having an SS catback with 18" resonators...and later adding Resonated HFCs, I knew I would be running a similar setup on my Nismo.

I elected to go with a NONresonated Xpipe paired with Resonated HFCs and absolutely LOVE IT!!!!!! After completing the install Saturday morning, I wasn't even a mile away from my house and had already gotten 2 different cars give me a thumbs up...and then later another one at a stop light.

Will be doing a full write-up review on here as well as the MyG37 forum with incabin vids, gopro and comparable vids of a local G35 coupe that owns a non-res X with CF canisters.

So what are all the different levels of "loudness" options for FI? From what I can tell 12" is middle of the road, between 18" and non-res. With(I'm guessing here) 18 and 12 at idle being close to the same, but louder when you accelerate.

Yea, non res is loudest, then 12" then 18" res. Even with 18" when you get on it, it comes to life and will turn heads. Then there's the difference between the carbon fiber mufflers and stainless steel mufflers. carbon fiber is higher pitched and slightly louder as well- "exotic" is a good way to describe it. stainless steel is a deeper tone. I've got the loudest setup now with non res carbon fiber and i love it.
