Installed mine today. EZ PZ. Will be taking the Z to church in the morning for it's maiden voyage with this new exhaust installed. I did an install video and will post it up once it's compiled. Super easy though, even on jack stands.

Huck 05-20-2012 12:34 AM

Sounds good man, looking forward to seeing it. How long did it take you? I think my exhaust will be pretty easy, it's the headers that I'm not looking forward to. Tony quoted it at a 7-8 hour job for the headers alone, PITA...

It took me about 2 hours I guess and that was with shooting the video.

Headers are always a PITA.

I'll post up the vid tomorrow, for now here's a pic:

The Fast Intentions 3" (Twin Turbo) exhaust sounds good & very clean.

mtaxelson 05-21-2012 08:55 AM

Oh my do I want this twin setup. Hope it gets released soon.

Speedy 05-21-2012 10:15 AM

Sounds great.

Here's some good video I took this weekend of the 18" resonated FI CBE stainless cans. I did a "How To" install video, but I gotta figure out where to post it on the forum. Pics and video on my website too.

Great video! With your permission I would like to put it on our website.

As for the install video, please email me the link. If you are ok with it as well, I might like to add it to the website.

Thank you, Tony

Sure thing Tony. Feel free to use either video where ever you see fit.

I e-mailed you links to both as well as the article on my website.

mtaxelson 05-21-2012 01:34 PM

I wonder if there will be any group buys, or introduction pricing for the twin kit. I would have to unload my LTH and 2.5'' for the twins and 3''.

Dibs! I want this setup so bad

LunaZ 05-22-2012 08:37 AM

While I'm disturbed that anyone would find it necessary to cover Kate Bush or that any rendition of her music would be used for something awesome like this exhaust system, I do have to give Tony two thumbs up. This system sounds awesome!

I was gonna ask what kind of setup you used to shoot that video, but then the shadows answered my question :icon17:

Who was the last one to get shipping confirmation? I know I'm close but I would like to set up my installation date. Thanks guys.

bushman66 05-23-2012 02:39 PM

Got mine yesterday. #507

Puma0183 05-23-2012 03:17 PM

Thanks "bushman"! I can't wait!

happytheman 05-25-2012 03:33 PM

Noticed over the past two days that when I shut the engine off, the exhaust pops three or four times. What could be the cause of this?

Brantly,

Please define weather it is the exhaust itself that is popping/ticking or if it is the car backfiring when you shut it down.. I know that you posted that you heard it from the exhaust but it could be the engine, that is why I ask.

Once I know, we can go from there.

Thanks,

happytheman 05-25-2012 04:08 PM

How can I tell whether its the exhaust popping or the car backfiring? Thanks for the quick reply Tony!

Puma0183 05-25-2012 04:22 PM

Could we get a list update when ever possible? Thanks!

3zworld 05-26-2012 02:31 PM

D.

We are looking forward to seeing it installed on your car.

The lead time is 1-2 weeks from the day your order is placed.

Give me a ring if you have any questions or when you are ready to place an order.

Thanks, Tony

The popping from the metal would be much more subtle than a backfire. It would almost sound like a ticking sound coming from the exhaust itself. It is the sudden change in temperature inside of the exhaust tubing right as the car shuts off. If what I wrote makes no sense to you or sounds confusing, please do not hesitate to call e directly. We can discuss it further.

As for a backfire, we all know what that sounds like.

Thanks, Tony

The more I drive this car with this exhaust on it the more I love it. Dayum this thing sounds awesome. Turns heads everywhere I go. Gas mileage is suffering somewhat since I'm more inclined to drive in auto stick now to run up the revs LOL

Awesome job on this design Tony! I swear it reminds me of a Ferrari.

Even my die hard Hemi friends had to concede this thing sounds bad *** LOL

Had a Sheriff deputy pull up beside me at a light the other day.. he motions to roll down the window.. Im biting my nails..

he's like.. "d00d.. that thing sounds like a Ferrari... love the exhaust bro!"

And I was all... LOL /salute

Thanks F.I.!!! :happydance:

V-10 05-29-2012 01:13 PM

Got my new exhaust installed, and holly crap what a difference. The sound change is incredible, and a big power boost also. Now the car sounds like it looks, thanks Tony you rock.

Quick question, can someone explain to me the real difference between the F.I. 100 cell HFC vs the 300 cell HFC's. Also any power or sound difference, and any CEL issues on either?

The Dimer 05-29-2012 06:57 PM

200 cells. :p

But seriously, the 100 cells should be less restrictive. I belive the anti-foulers keep the check engine lights at bay regardless of the type.

The 100 cells are probably louder due to less restrictions and the performance gains may be higher with the 100 cells but probably aren't very noticeable compared to the 300 cells.

Great question! Our 100 cell cat is much less restrictive than our 300 cell cat. It is the least restrictive cat that you can use without going to a resonated or straight test pipe. We recommend them in Supercharged applications because they can withstand much more heat and abuse. It will still be crucial to get your air/fuel ratio optimal so you do not destroy them.

The 300 cell cat will most likely blow out in a force inducted application. Now for Turbocharged applications I recommend to get the cat out of the stock location altogether. (For Off Road Use, of course)! :tiphat: This is why we offer it in the lead pipe. By moving it downstream it will take a lot less abuse.

To finish with two points,

1) The 100 cell cat will see a better performance gain because it is less restrictive.

2) You will not get a CEL with any of our parts when installed correctly.

If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Thanks, Tony

bushman66 05-29-2012 09:14 PM

The guys at Vivid Racing installed my 18" stainless CBE today...all I can say is WOW! Fit and finish is impeccable, and the exhaust note is to die for. ZERO drone at cruise, but louder across the entire powerband and when you jump on it... !!!!! :)

The guys at Vivid shot some photos of the install, but not sure when or where they will be posted...

THIS is how the Z should have sounded from the factory...

Thanks guys, I have a better understanding of them now. Which F.I. HFC is best to pair with a F.I. CBE with 18" resonaters, or what HFC do people usually pair with this exhaust?

Puma0183 05-30-2012 06:11 PM

I know that #511 shipped 5/25. Has anyone has anyone else received shipping confirmation? Thanks!
