Hey guys,

Kinda new to Exhausts. I am looking into the F.I CBE however I cant make up my mind between 12" and 18" resonators. All the videos online sound about the same.

Some info I've read says the exhaust note will sound the same its just quieter inside the car. Other things I've read says you'll only hear the 18" when you get on the throttle. I'm in a Roadster so there is no "quiet" inside lol.

Advice? Thoughts?

Thanks

Do you daily drive the car? Also, any plans to add HFCs or TPs down the road?

Default Fast Intentions exhaust is here! (continued)

I'm non-res and love it but it does pass thru a turbo first which muffles it some

Bolded above is NOT true. I've had my 18" resonated CBE installed for about 2 weeks now. You def get some noise on deceleration and mild acceleration. Honestly, the sound is perfect for me and I have no intentions of messing with the cats.

Just installed the non-resonated test pipes, paired with ARK Grip catback. The sound it makes is incredible .

Not my DD. Its purpose is a weekend cruiser and track day car 3-4 times a year.

Finished goal is mild: CAI, CBE, Oil Cooler and tune. Whats hard is everyone rav's about each exhaust, non-res, 12" and 18" lol.

I almost feel like it need to hear them all in person, unless you or someone can really break down the sounds. videos are great but after watching 50 of them they all begin to blend together. Non-res is def loudest and a little higher in frequency

What made you go with 18" over 12" then? They both sound awesome.

After a seemingly long wait (9 weeks), I just (today) received my FI cat back system (w/18" res.) to go with the FI hf cats I already had... Super excited to get them installed tomorrow! Excellent product... and worth the wait! You can just look at the fabrication and see the quality - tight, uniform welds... thick machined joints, polished and presentable! A BIG THANKS goes out to TONY and the entire FI crew! CK

It is hard to capture the true sound in some of the online videos. Below I've tried to give a brief explanation of each option. You really can't go wrong with either option.

Our Non-Resonated is our loudest exhaust in terms of over all volume. It is also the highest pitched in tone, and sounds very exotic and European-like. It is a popular favorite for those who do not plan on changing their OEM catalytic converters.

Our 12" Resonators are our middle of the road option. This options is only slightly lower in terms of over all volume than our Non-Resonated option. The 12" resonators help to smooth out the exhaust note and add depth to the exhaust system.

Our 18" resonated exhaust system is our quietest option in terms of overall volume. When I say quiet, it is still louder than the OEM exhaust, and very noticeable from the outside of the vehicle. This option cuts out most of the added interior noise (great for a convertible), but produces the deepest and smoothest exhaust note.

Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can be of assistance.

- Kevin

I drove an SRT-4 with a catless turbo back exhaust for like 6 years - I was kinda over the loud exhaust thing so I wanted something more aggressive than stock but not too attention grabbing unless I really get on it. 18" seems like the perfect fit.

Also, I picked up mine used so I didn't really have a choice. =P

It can't be. The decibel rating for Armytrix when it's full open is like 104db. I think FI non-res is like 96 or 98db.
