I would say that most shops would charge 10 hours of labor to install headers and test pipes....... I would suggest taking your car to more of a high class shop just because we have seen a lot of broken sensors due to incorrect installs.

We have learned that it is a sizeable installation...10hrs is about right....cost should be somewhere in the $600-$700 range.

Only took my guy 5 hrs. He did say, however, that 10 hours is what's listed in Nissan's system.

Frankly $600 seems high to me, but then again I've never taken anything into a shop besides a transmission that needed a rebuild and I unbolted everything and brough them the tranny.
How mechanically inclined are you? If you don't have the confidence to do the work yourself then I wouldn't attempt a header install. If you see people on here saying 5-10 hours, find out what their hourly rate is and get a reputable shop and make sure you track how many hours they had the car. |

Actually, $1000 doesn't sound that far out of the ballpark, depending on the area. The headers are expensive to install, there's just no way around it. It's a hard pill to swallow any time it costs more to install a part than the cost of the part itself!

The test pipes are easy, its the headers that are a bit of a pain to get to from what i know... i really have no time to do it myself, but even if i did i wouldn't... i'd rather give the trouble and headache to someone else if you know what i mean
im gonna check with a shop later today and ill post tomorrow what they say |
