I did a muffler delete for $140 plus a $20 tip for stopping what he was doing and throwing my car on the rack. Cut the piping right after the axel back flange so as to bolt a factory one back up, bend pipes, cut off factory tips and weld on, weld on new exhaust hangers using factory location. Didnt even have to remove the shield from the evac or evap thing, then shot the piping with hi-temp matte black paint. Sounds beastly now. Planning on going back and having him make a custom x-pipe. Quoted me another $140 to do that and throw it on. The guys does mostly rat rods, so he thought it wa crazy to have such a new car on his rack. Good friend of mine.

How do the AAM Short Pipes compare in sound tone and loudness to a stock 370z and berk HFC?
Also would a Nismo S-Tune muffler hook straight up to a standard 370Z? Would it sound deeper and louder as well? |

I don't believe the Nismo Muffler will hook up to a stock Z mid section. Though I'm not 100% positive. |
The stock Nismo muffler wont bolt up to an OEM base mid section. The nismo muffler is not what you are going to want if you are looking for "sound"

That video sounded pretty clean.

I like the short tails and would try them but I'm concerned about drone.
This is a DD and I don't know if I could take it. :icon14: |
minimal drone on mine... (in a roadster too)
they are tunes to be loudest at 4k rpm... which is generally not where you cruise. |
I ordered mine yesterday, should be here next week!

Thanks for the input RandyD.
Looking forward to your comments Sfearl1. I may try these, at least it's easy to go back to stock. Wakin' up the neighbours, yes! :icon17: |
At normal cruising it will sound like they are not there, completely stock. Lay in the throttle and you get the smile.
