I already have CBE and HFC installed and looking to add K&N drop in. Do I need tune for that? I read that you need a tune if you have 3 breathing mods...but does filter counts as mod? I may add the maf tube later on.

You're probably OK with that setup, since the headers are stock, and its still catted. If you want to get Max performance and be safe than it wouldn't hurt To get a tune.

So I just installed my FI CBE and HiFlow Cats, and the stillen Gen 3's. I wasn't planning on getting a tune just yet, but I feel like im burning through gas faster, any thoughts?

Well that was easy

Haha. As long as all the breathing mods are done then you're ready. If you'd like to upgrade flywheels, pulleys , or anything like that for more power it won't require another tune because they don't have anything to do with air. If you plan to do headers or an intake plenum then you'll want to wait. Other than that just find a reputable shop and get it done.

Yea I wasn't planning on doing it just yet, cuz im on the fence of getting the motordyne manifold, but I feel like im spending a lot more time at the pump and I hate that:shakes head:

I've read mixed reviews about the Motordyne manifold. Some people report that they didn't get any gains from it, and some people actually lost torque in the midrange by a fair amount, just to gain 2-3 hp at the very top end. Make sure you do your research before you pull the trigger. If you're gonna get it, then I would wait like Footloose said. Otherwise, you don't NEED a tune, but you can definitely benefit from it.

My bad

Germanguy 11-21-2012 05:46 PM

I have

ebay y-pipe and a muffler with manual closing/opening valve system.

Id like to throw my exoticspeed hfc on my 2010 Z, but 2/3 german tuner say the Z will drive too lean and the ECU will not comensate enough the new mod!

Whats right now?!

seymore4 11-21-2012 07:41 PM

Get an uprev tune! Your car won't run lean to the point that it will damage anything, but a tune will make it run so much better

+1 for a great seller. Love my uprev, thx for your help.

Germanguy 11-22-2012 07:24 AM

Thanks, but I dont want to flash the ECU because I dont want to void my warranty.

Will I run too lean?

K&N filters
exotic speed 300 cell hfc
Muffler with manual valve system

Thanks!
