K&N Typhoon Air Intake
anyone know if k&n is bein truthful with the hp gains up to 14.2 at the wheels...i dont see how something still next to engine getting all the heat will do numbers like that...if its legit ill buy the thing

I wasn't so sure either and I went with stillen gen 3. I saw a thread here that said you loose power over time with the typhoon set up.

If you are not wanting to go with Stillen G3's or Takeda Stage 2 which both require taking off your front bumper but give you max gains up top. Then go with post MAF tubes with K&N drop ins. Anything else is for looks mostly and minimal gains over what the post MAF tubes with drop ins will give you.

I can't say if the gains were what they said or not, as I did several other mods at the same time. But the performance is great and the sound is even better which the others cannot compete with. The K&N's look better than the others and the maintenance is much easier. Made it a simple choice for me and no regrets.

its all preference. there's data that suggests that the short ram only makes power while the engine bay is cool...which isn't very long. they suffer from heat soak. the stock boxes are actually in a good spot. I went with the tubes and afe dry flow filters, I didn't dyno, but its SUPPOSED to be a 5-7 hp gain I believe...but nobodys butt dyno will notice that. but for the cost,id say its better than the k&n
