Using two separate mufflers?
Hello all. So I (like most people) am tired of the stock exhaust sound. I want to hold off on getting CBE because I already have Gen 3's, and don't want to get a tune until my warrenty runs out (as having both 'should' require one). I'll be buying a Stillen exhaust once it does run out as well as a bunch of other mods.
Axle backs would be too loud with some drone, so I was thinking a custom exhaust that is a bit more unique. What do you guys think about getting pipes connected to two different mufflers (one for each side) connected to tips. I think this could sound like two separate cars at once (which could be cool). I would try to get them have the same amount of restrictiveness and whatnot. Am I onto something or just talking nonsense? Thanks

well first off. intake and exhaust shouldnt require a tune. a tune would just help.
a tune on a stock car helps smooth the power delivery as well. also thats a terrible idea.. also axle backs or catbacks dont have to be loud or drone if you pick the right one. |

Axel backs generally aren't that loud either. Find a mod friendly dealer and just do it now. My cars completely bolted and tuned and no warranty problems. But if you plan to go cat back you might as well go all out now and not waste money in the mean time.
Stillen CBE kinda sucks too, in my opinion atleast. Theres far better exhausts out there then stillen, fast intentions, MXP, powerhouse just to name a few.

If you want a nice quiet exhaust, get the Tanabe Medallion. It's quiet, sits high, tips look great and doesn't break the bank too bad. $1250ish if you look hard for the midpipe on back. 500ish for the y pipe. If its too quiet, get LTH's, HFC's, ART pipes, or TP's. But point is, there are plenty of options available. No need to reinvent the wheel with this.

Haha well alright then! I always just thought a tune would be needed to adjust air/fuel ratios, but I guess exhaust and intake with an ecu reset would do the trick until I pull the trigger on the tune (once I'm done with my bolt ons).
I was just wanting to keep everything on my car Stillen, but I'll continue to browse for other exhausts on other threads here. Thanks for the help guys
