Will there be an option for different color silicone, or for Powder Coating of the pipes?

Are the filters Oiled K&N or Dry Filters?

The Original Intakes Didn't work out as planned so were back on the drawing board with these to maximize power output. Updates will follow soon.

So we decided to go with a little bigger piping on this one and instead of 90 degree piping when it passes through the front bumper support were going with 90 degree couplers and a couple other tweaks.... still workin on them though not quite finished

Ok so here is what is going on thus far...

REV 1 is a full 2.5" 6061 Aluminum solution with Nomex couplers.

The Rev 1(figure this type of naming is easiest) did not actually lose power. I went with a similar size to the stock MAF housing. This actually yielded excellent results for drive-ability. They required no tuning at all. Actually the trims improved over stock. The AF Correction was primarily +/- 3% for both banks, which is excellent.

The down side to Rev 1 is the AFR dropped a full point! Actually, it went from 11.9 - 12.3 under WOT stock to 11.1- 10.8 with the intakes. This is why we saw a loss in power. This could have been tuned out, but I wanted a plug n play solution.

Basically, the intake design comes down to pipe diameter and layout. If the pipe diameter is the same as stock, it will run richer and therefore lose power. If you go slightly larger that stock, you can lean out the AFR mix and make some power. If you go too big, the car will not run correctly due to the lack of fuel. So the key is to have smooth flow with a larger diameter pipe and a tune.

...Move on to REV 2.
REV 2 is also 6061 Aluminum with Nomex couplers. It is 2.75"

Now, this revision puts the trims out of spec 15% which is to be expected. However, we have no reducers and tuning is exceptionally easy. Literally a 15% delta to the Fuel multiplier and we are ready to rock. AFR will be solid and we should make 8 -12 HP with no other changes, on pump gas.

I did not make brackets for the Rev 2, as I expected this to be a 'testing' set. If there is any rubbing or rattling I will include those on the final revision.

So this was my thought, and I am open to feedback

We will offer the larger diameter intake which will make the power, but it will require a tune adjustment. This tune adjustment will be made available as part of the kit purchase price. There will no NO ADDITIONAL FEE for the scalar. I think we will actually offer the intakes with an Up Rev bundle at a very discounted price. I am thinking STG 1 and STG 2 options. The only key is you need a way to tune the car...Up Rev or Cobb. I know this may alienate some buyers, but it will be the best design for power.

We can also offer the the intakes in a hybrid form. I can get a MAF housing closer to the stock size and make it completely plug n play. I really do not like when the intakes neck down to the MAF and then neck back up to the piping. By keeping the piping at 2.75" we do not require a reducing coupler, so we can keep the price of the intakes down as well. It also look way better when the design is uniform throughout. I did not want to manipulate the numbers, as I want our kit to make the most power at the best price, period.

***If anyone has a stock car with the Stillen Gen 3 installed, I am offering FREE dyno pulls so we will have a comparison vehicle***

I still have to get the numbers on the dyno and make sure the car drives perfectly before we sell them. I appreciate all of the feedback, and I will make sure to get these going ASAP.

Thanks guys!

John

We need comparison dyno results between the Stillen Gen 3's, Akuma 2.5" and Akuma 2.75" intakes after all intakes have been tuned to adjust for AFR and WITHOUT timing changes. This will show whether or not the Akuma intakes (including 2.5" vs 2.75") are truly worth it after the extra effort.

Impressed you are making comparison runs with G3

But... I think the problem you having with Rev 1 (and maybe 2 as well) is location for the MAF sensors -- they look to be higher in the intake tract than OEM, which will create misreads, at least without tuning.
