Motordyne M370 is it just a 350Z plenum?
Hey guys,
I always thought the Motordyne plenum was a 350Z plenum with different holes... At a recent car meet, I was informed that it was supposedly a 370 manifold that they saw open and do whatever they need to do Can anyone shed light on this? And if anyone can provide a schematic or something, that would be awesome! Thanks in advance! |

i THINK this is correct.... as sad as this is... i find it ironic that we upgrade our 370's with 350 parts... heads included

Yes, it's a 350 manifold with the holes re-drilled to mount on our engine. It changes the length of the runners to shift the powerband downwards a little, and seems to make a net gain over the whole range in trade for a little HP loss at the peak RPMs. The main point of debate is that most of those gain charts are swapping manifolds on a car without changing the tune. I think the few that have tried tuning the ECU with the old manifold and then tuning with the new see very little net gain. In other words, the ECU fine-tuning and the manifold seem to overlap on gains considerably. Not enough data to say for sure though.

WStar, I always appreciate your input, and I think you were the first guy who told me its a 350 plenum (now if only I can get the guy who says that it's a 370 intake that has been modified to chime in, we can have an Internet battle...) I personally think its a 350 intake because if you look into the plenum you can see different openings a difference to how the air is channeled...

It's a 350Z upper manifold.
/end thread.
