Mmmm looks nice
Any clue why these other CAIs don't make as much gain as the Gen 3's? Or were those 4 hp after other mods like exhaust? Just wondering since I prefer the design on look of these to the stillens. |

I don't think we have a dyno plot yet of just the Nismo intake posted in here. I have not done it yet. But I also have Berk HFC's so when I get the exhaust and tune I'll get a before and after dyno run, but its going to include the cats. Given the general tolerance in dyno runs, I would expect the Nismo intake to be close to the Stillen. I suppose one could measure the diameter of the intake tubes and if the Stillen was a lot bigger it might generate more HP. Then you have to consider the area of the filter elements and the filter media.....that's too much math and thermo for me.

They are 2.75" and I just got them from a local speed shop.
Amazon.com: HPS 4-Ply Reinforced 2.75" (70mm) Straight Silicone Hose Coupler Black: Automotive Those will work, for example. |

[QUOTE=DCNISMO;1714823]In my 2010 MB Nismo...
Nice: Been taking my time trying to decide which CAI to purchase for my 2012 Nismo. I am partial to these, as I think the Nissan folks have the upper hand in fabrication personally.... but had some reservations as someone mentioned that the windshield washer pump relocation/ wiring had to be fabricated and did not come in the kit? Also since I live in CA we have to have something called a CARB certification when we get our cars smogged. Though this looks like it may pass our visual inspection. Anyways, Thanks for posting the pictures. These have a clean look to them and the NISMO emblem blends well with the engine bay. Look forward to a dyno post if you get around to it.

Hi
The kit is complete to relocate a new fluid resivor with wiring to extend the pump and sensor level wires. Works great, but the new resivor is a bit smaller. I'm quite happy with it and if you want to go back to stock intake you can do that with no scars left, unlike the Stillen intake that leave a hole in the radiator support. Each his own though as you can choose from the k&n filter with maf tubes, Stillen, nismo r, or typhoon and a few others. |

They are very quiet if you have the bypass valves installed. Take those out and it instantly becomes more throaty and about 10 times as loud. The valves act like a resonator of sorts to break up the howl, barely any louder than stock except at very high RPM and WOT. |
