CNT H-pipe Issue

Did an inventory got 5/6 gaskets and 10/12 bolts but that's not a big problem. The H pipe came in two pieces, one side has slits and the other doesn't.

Default CNT H-pipe Issue

Did an inventory got 5/6 gaskets and 10/12 bolts but that's not a big problem.

The H pipe came in two pieces, one side has slits and the other doesn't. The side with the slits is barely larger but the two pieces don't fit together and there is no clamp included. Am I supposed to just jam(deform) these two pieces together and not clamp them? They couldn't have forgot to weld these two pieces together, could they?

From what this picture shows (CNT's website) you just jam the two ends together to form the "H". It probably would have been a better idea to include a clamp with it to reduce the possibility of a leak.

LOL another CNT exhaust issue......mine came with a clamp to clamp em together........ but i had other issues........ =/ take a picture of your mid pipe. i wanna see if yours is screwed up like mine was. Don't bother contacting them cause they will just tell you to go to Autozone and buy a clamp yourself or they might have to go and get it for you.

The thing is they don't jam together; I'd have to widen/flare-out the piece with the slits to have it fit over the other side. Instead of a clamp would it be better to weld the H-pipe together once its on the car?

I'll have pics of my mid-pipe up. One of my mufflers also has a dent/ding from shipping. This exhaust has been out for a while; they should've had all these issues sorted out by now.

You would think so but lookin through their thread, a lot of people have had different issues. Though still issues. Seems like they have ZERO quality control at all. They probably realize on each piece what they screwed up but send it out anyways! This is the issue with my mid pipe.

This is the bracket that does not belong! They welded it on the wrong side and only HALFWAY fixed it. Its cut already cause me and another member on here cut it ourselves cause this piece was rubbin on the driveshaft after the HFC install.....

why do i say they halfway fixed it? Cause if you look at the red squares on this one, they grinded down the mis-weld and cleaned it up already. I noticed it before i installed but didnt think anything of it.

Since we are here, heres what ERZ (aka CNT) sent me when i told them i was missing bolts.

Dear chrischhorn,

I don't have any extra and would have to go to home depot and buy it. But I think it will save you more time if you go get it yourleft. Just normal screw.

Thank you

Dear erzperformance,

Hi i just received your exhaust and put all of it on and come to realize that it is missing the screws that hold on the adjustable tips. Any way that you can get those sent out to me?

ya they had an issue with one of the brackets in the center. just remove it. IIRC correctly there are 4 brackets, so just cut the one rubbing off. yes the center piece is a very tight fit, but it just takes spreading the cutpieces out a little then it slides right over.

^ okay that makes sense. seems like a crappy design since it would only really fit tight the first time.

hey chrischhorn, I got the same issue with the mid-pipe. It's easy to make the assumption ERZ is knowingly shipping "bolt-on" exhausts that require modification to fit; and that they can't be bothered to replace the missing bits and pieces.

WOW......... Man I am sorry this happen to you. I'm surprised they sent you the exhaust even though they messed up on the welding. I would be pissed too. You would think that one would not receive damaged goods especially from welding.
