I have been installing my HKS exhaust for the last couple days and have had a couple issues. NOT WITH THE HKS SYSTEM, but with the removal of my. OEM parts. I also am replacing the CATS with Z1 HFC. After an exhaustive removal of the passenger side CAT while installing the HFC the bolt stripped. It was not at the torque limit, it just stripped. I realize that a few cents are saved with less than optimal fasteners, but it took me several hours to get the top right fastener off of the right side when it failed. A trip to Fastenal and I got some good fasteners.
The driver's side went much easier, although I did notice that I had to use a slim profile 3/8 drive extension with a short socket to get by the steering column. Installing the HKS system was a breeze, although it initially. Hit my Hotchkis sway bar. Loosening all the fasteners and torquing from the back to front allowed about 1/8-1/4 inch clearance. All that's left for me to do now is reinstall my CAI and then fire it up. That will be a Monday task. Last edited by grant; 12-02-2012 at 05:59 PM. |
